Help! Totally un-Blackberry savvy

There's a free app I would like to download but have no idea how to? I've only got a small amount of free download on my mobile package but this is free so I guess that would be OK.

I have WiFi at home so shouldn't cost me anything? I've managed to get WiFi logo showing on my phone but still can't work out how to get the app?

Also, I now can't get the WiFi off my phone. Does that mean I'll be charged when I leave the house or only if I try to use the Internet?

We had a payphone in my house when I was growing up... so you can see the learning curve I have to make!!!

Providing you can log into your home WiFi, then there will be no download charges. The phone is pretty complex, look at the instruction book for the fiddly details - like how to turn WiFi on and off, as well as doing the same for data, when you DON'T want it to connect.

I don't know if it's different for BB, but normally you just use your mobile browser to go to the website and download the app.

I guess that now the phone will switch to mobile data connection as soon as it loses wifi signal. Hopefully it will reconnect to wifi automatically when you come back to your home.
  • On your Blackberry go to App World, find the App you want and download straight to your phone. It will either be in your downloads folder or straight to your home screen.

How much data allowance do you have a month? 500MB is plenty for a Blackberry. Their data is compressed. I have never gone over my allowance despite being connected to the internet 24/7/365 via the Blackberry Internet Service (BIS).
