Im due to move into a new home and since I've always rented privately I've never gotten Sky etc installed. Now I'm looking at the deals but It's all so confusing! I'm basically wanting a decent amount of channels to watch (preferably Sky1...does BT Vision have this?), the ability to add packages like movies, childrens tv…

Virgin doesn't have a 'signal area'. It's a cable service-your street is either cabled or it's not.
samknows will tell you all you need to know. PVR= Personal Video Recorder.
Little point in paying out for the basic Sky sub unless yo want to add movies or sports. Freesat and Freeview will give you most of the same channels for free.
