Ha! CPW confirm in writing? That's the funniest thing I've ever heard! Keep a very close eye on your bank account.dribsndrabs wrote:Do they inform you in writing that they have received your letter and are confirming the contract has ended, or am I just a little too optimistic?
I don't want to keep checking my bank account to see if they've taken money out despite writing the letters well in advance.

Sorry, that sounds really bitter, but they really have messed me about something terrible, it's gone way beyond a joke.dizzy_blonde wrote:Ha! CPW confirm in writing? That's the funniest thing I've ever heard! Keep a very close eye on your bank account.
At least on the positive side I have the 0800 number for CPW o2 customer services engrained on my memory - it's 0800 0490049 in case anyone needs it!
DON'T USE THE 0870 NUMBER!0 -
Many thanks for the phone number dizzy_blonde. I spoke to a really nice guy who said to phone in on the 34th day before the end of the contract. They will then issue the address (he only mentioned 1 address as opposed to 2) and authorise the pac code request. I need to send off the letter asap and then I will receive 2 letters: 1 giving the PAC code (which should already have been received by text within 48 hours of my call) and then another giving details of the end date of the contract as per my letter. After the second letter, I should cancel my d/d after the last d/d date as specified. It all seems very scary but I'm glad I've read up on this on the internet because it's preparing me for the worst.
Does anyone have a good template letter, requesting the disconnection, that they used/can recommend?Thomas Jefferson: "When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on."

That's not the one I've been using. I don't know where you got it from so if it's a proper source it would help to put that on here. Otherwise it's likely to mislead people. The address itself is simply the registered office.0

I fully concur - CPW must be the winner of the Worst Customer Service Awards! They lie to get you to take out or renew a contract; then when you find out, the next person you speak to said the first person didn't know what he or she was talking about but you are stuck in a contract that was missold to you (violating distance selling regulations/sale of goods Act) and if you don't pay up it will affect your credit rating! They ignore all your letters of complaint even though you get replies apologising and stating they are dealing with it. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE COWBOYS AND AGREE TO ANYTHING unless they give you everything in writing. If they can't give it to you in writing - ask yourself why!0
