ParkingEye Parking ticket admitted liability issue

Options
I have recently got one of these tickets and have sent an appeal. However I did stay over the allowed 2 hours due to an overly long meal in a local restaurant.

I have sent my appeal stating this with a receipt and apologising. As I have now admitted liability i.e I did say over 2 hours.

Should I pay as they now have my addmission, or should I still ignore the letters

Absolutely not! You parked in a free car park for two hours and stayed over by a bit. They have not suffered any loss so they cannot claim for losses. Their "fine" is an unenforceable invoice and they have no legal power to issue any penalties or fines.

Eating in a restaurant?! The crime of the century.

Ignore the clowns at Parking Eye. What have you admitted 'liability' for? You can't be liable for a charge you're not obliged to pay.

"We regret to inform you that having carefully considered your appeal we have no option but to refuse it on the grounds that we are desperate to get our grubby mitts on your hard earned cash. Please send us a cheque for £80 by return of post, on receipt of which we will forward a further demand for £50 as your payment wasn't received on time.

    Thank you.

Obviously ignore it. Forget what you've said already, there's no liability to admit!

Please read more about this scam:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...play.php?f=163

Once you have seen the preview of the letters to expect and ignore, and when you have seen the Watchdog clip on another top thread by Crabman, you WILL be certain about it I am sure. Read the 'stickies' (info threads at the top, but not Park Right as that one's irrelevant) and then read on down the thread list, click on ANY other threads you like.

Of course you can ignore them now, and the question ''can I still ignore them even though I have already ''appealed''? (;)LOL @ 'appealed'...:D) is asked a lot:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/search.php?searchid=119973233

That link will only last for a limited time as the question comes up so often the search result will change & no longer work. I just searched the sub-forum for keywords 'already appealed' if you want to repeat the search. Read any result that's NOT about a Council (real) PCN, as they are different.

Ignore them completely from now on. But do read up on the scam and watch the Watchdog clip if you've not seen that already, and get a preview of the letters to come. They really are easy to ignore when you can just play snap with them compared to the pics in the top thread.

You have given the "ticket" far to much emphasis already.
Its more fake than monopoly money !
This is a scam that impersonates authority.
Treat it no different to any other flyer left on your windscreen such as get rich quick schemes and you wont go far wrong.
Ignore them, ignore all the silly letters and bewared the impersonation will take on many characters if you ignore the first, such as fake debt collectors and fake solicitors even down to spotty 19 year old kids calling you on the phone to make fake threats.

PS Dont waste your time complaining at the venue, they are usually in on the scam, just eat somewhere else that does not try to con money from its customers.

Ignore Parking Eye from now on, and also ignore the restaurant telling the manage that due to harassment from a contractor (Parking Eye) acting on their behalf, you will no longer be spending your money there, and telling your friends, family & work colleagues to do the same.

It might do sod-all, but if the letters from ex-customers keep coming in and the taking drops they might do something. 2 hours isn't long enough to have a good meal at peak times.
