And Public Sector Employees have PayScales to climb ....... a payrise in all but name!!

wrong. The payscales are not infinite, there's usually only 3 or 4 points to each grade & worth a few hundered each. I'm at the top of mine so won't be getting a pay rise

Well be rest assured you will have an awesome redundancy package or pension at the end of it all instead then.

the redundancy packages are quite poor actually. A mate of mine whose on less than me & in the job less than me, recently got 3 x what I would receive in his private sector job.

But yes the pensions are decent, although as they're being cut, we're effectively getting a pay cut

Who starts a career somewhere based on how good the redundancy package is? That seems a bit odd.
  • The salient point (which you clearly missed as part of your attempt to post a sarcastic reply ) is that some companies who were not giving out rises in 2009 and 10 are now starting to do so, which has to be good news for 'ordinary' people. Several of my friends have received a rise along with myself and I am sure there are others

BTW My OH is an ordinary dude on the street and isn't a graduate

ok so now its your other half, you and your friends who all got raises. yeah ddude whatever, why not sayt that at the beginning. stop making things up as you go along.

dude, next it will be friends of your friends friend who got rises

You must practice hard at being an a**se as you are very good at it, if you put as much effort into your work I can only imagine you will be in line for a raise too. On the other hand perhaps you are a sad little individual with no prospects and take pleasure in putting down any one who is doing better than you, judging by your attitude I believe its the latter.
Dont wait for your boat to come in 'Swim out and meet the bloody thing' ;)

Nah, I think its more that people have just sussed out what a small minded person you are who has nothing to contribute to the forum, and spouts rubbish when challenged. I have yet to read an intelligent, reasoned well argued point from you yet

Still nearly Monday and you can go back to school and play with people your own age and intellect, not long now
