That is an interesting calculator. I stand to be corrected by a real NPower expert:D but I think knowledge of 12 months consumption (no idea between which dates) is necessary to determine the primary unit % allocation in any month.
  • I've just done that calculator and it came up with (I put in exactly what it said on my bill):

You have used 2,730kwh costing you £115.10
Your total CO2 footprint is 562.3 kg
On average you used 54.6kwh a day costing you £2.30 Your average CO2 footprint is 11.2 kg a day

    Calculation Details
    Usage Cost
    Tier 1 (7.471p per kwh) 626kwh £46.79
    Tier 2 (2.987p per kwh) 2,103kwh £62.82
    Sub-total £109.62
    VAT £5.48
    Total £115.10

My partner worked it out based on the link to the Npower info page and he worked it out at about £125ish. I am going to have to ring them this afternoon and find out what is going on!

I'm sorry I don't have time today to do that but my thinking is with a maximum of 882 per (calander) month and a billing period of 50 days I can't see how the NPower calculation of 1896 (2.1 x 882) can be correct (unless they underallocated for Nov on the previous bill).

So by that logic must be wrong.

Nothing to say after over 24 hours of speculation and comment?
  • I have just spoken to Npower and after much arguing they have admitted they have over charged me for about 450 units and are amending my bill and launching an investigation. I had to mention the 882 units at higher rate bit about 5 times though! Thank you all for helping! :D
