    you don't install it, just SAVE it to desktop from the download link on the page. Then re-boot pc in safe mode, and run the file....

    I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

    I have used that utility before - from that same link. It is perfectly safe to use.

    Page file is a Windows thing (wherein a section of hard disk is ring-fenced for use as virtual memory). Why it should say anything about this in Safe mode I don't know, but I'd suggest just following the instructions on that linked page.

    DO NOT try to run the utility directly from the link - save it to your desktop as instructed.

    Thats the problem i,m having bod, saving to desktop;;I say keep. it,s on system twice as a file, but not on d/t, and cannot locate it on d/t. I can locate it using search, not d/t, is it ok to execute from start/search???

    Hi Guys, used tool ok.still av stuff related to it left on, but re-downloaded it ok, seems fine, MSE now off.
    Thought of Avira, but been happy with Avast, (thanks EnRIK+GunJack, again)
    and you too bod, much appreciated, also did what EnRIK said on hijackthis. Use aol for e-mail, so left it on, I know it can be attained via other browsers, but a bit of a hassle, but so is aol;;:beer::beer:all
