Really?? There are a hell of a lot of armchair economists on this forum who know a lot about very little that qualifies them to know the true picture of Greece.

They borrowed money and wasted it.

Now they cannot pay it back and are whining.

What more needs to be known?

I'd like to know when they are going to stop borrowing money and wasting it.

and you know all of this because you've been on a holiday to Greece once, when people only took cash and you found out they didn't pay their taxes. That's expert analysis.

Are they paying their taxes now?

Went a few years ago and nobody would accept anything but cash.

Are you saying it is not true?

Is tax evasion rife in Greece?

Has the country borrowed more than it can afford to repay?

Please correct me if I am mistaken.

Going on a cheap package holiday to Corfu does not make you a Greek economic and cultural expert unfortunately.

Q1. How much money does the UK government borrow every year?

Q2. How much money does the UK government waste every year?

Q3. Is tax evasion rife in the UK?

Q4. Has the UK borrowed more than it can afford to repay?
"It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis

UK is not expecting to be bailed out whilst knocking it's creditors so not entirely relevant to the discussion regarding Greece.
