Crete still appears totally normal. Food and drink still available and waiters making jokes about the Euro. Cash in the ATMs.
.
I'd say if you haven't made your mind up about a holiday destination get booked for Crete. ..... I'm pretty sure we'll be here next year as well.... and you'll be helping the Greek economy too.:D

I came across a new conspiracy theory today, the Drachmaists, a group of rich Greeks who have moved their money abroad, are bankrolling SYRIZA in the hope of a reversion to the Drachma at which point they move their money back into Greece to buy up a load of assets from the newly impoverished middle classes:

It would be really difficult to say who is preforming worst at the moment, between the Greek football team and Greek politicians, maybe they should consider switching roles?Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0

Is it me or is this getting really daft.Greece were never solvent ,yes they lied to get into the Euro ,but we knew they were lying .What were we doing to let them join ,the EU does not seem to understand that it is equally culpable as it clearly does not have the checks in place to uncover such practices .If they come out of the Euro then nobody gets their money . That nice Mr Putin then cosies up to them and bingo you have a bigger problem than you've currently got .0

But I sense this conspiracy goes a bit too far - Syriza are not friends of the oligarch, whatever you might say about them.0 -

There used to be a tax scam in The City where instead of a loan you got a large, interest-free/low interest loan in Turkish Lira. When it came time to repay the loan the Lira had dropped in value. Apart from one year it didn't and that was the end of that scheme.0 -

I expect they'll 'fudge it' again. Agree to disagree and arrange to meet up for another round of bun fights in six months time!
Isn't it in Germany's best interest for that to happen? Keeps Greece in the Euro, the debt stays on their books and the Euro exchange rate remains suppressed.
Even better we're heading into the summer financial news lull and the media will be delighted to keep Greece at the top of the news agenda.
I know people who won't go to Greece on holiday because of the 'crisis' - what's that about?0 -
will this be another fudge day, or a day of reckoning??!!!
There is sweet smell in the air!!!0 -

Indeed.
Not sure yet whether it's a good old fashioned Cadbury's fudge.
Maybe it will be upgraded to a Boost? We may get a Time Out, but you'd be a brave man to bet on that.
Me? I'm going to settle on a Twirl. A bit of a crap dance.0
