People that can't afford gas and electric

  • I'm looking for a new tariff or company for a cheaper deal right now but if some stranger phoned me up claiming to be able to save me money I would tell them I'm perfectly happy with my current supplier. If I want to change something I'll investigate it for myself and make my own choice thankyouverymuch.

By what given right does anyone have a right to call me or know my personal information, NONE

I have a brain and if I wan something I will ASK

I am TPS registered but still have these money driven idjits calling, they dont respect any legalities so why should I respect them?

Financial bonus driven sales is what caused the current financial situation by the banks using bonuses to encourage their staff to abuse peoples needs, I know I have a relative who was in the business and has told exactly what went on and how they were basically forced to sell what wasnt sustainable!

You will get no sympathy from me and if you call you will probably start to get the high pitched whistle that the scam callers get, watch your ears!!!!!!!!!!

And anyway would any sensible person be wanting to keep changing when you see the problems that arise on this forum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And also why must there be so many different tarriffs, we are all flesh and blood and use fuels for the same needs, because someone has the use of a PC why should they get any preferential treatment to someone more needy who cant afford a PC?????????????????????

Or are some people more EQUAL than others! Its just a form of rank discrimination!

Dont call me with your arrogant extortionistic attitude, if you want to earn a wage get a real job!!!!

I work as an engineer in peoples houses and can offer a chance of 4% discount lower than a rate available anywhere else.....people still don't want to know. They vent off about it but very rarely actually act on it.

Just to to say the warm home discount IS paid for by the energy suppliers after they have agreed this with the Government.

But I do truly believe that if EVERYONE (not just people on sites like this (which I do think are great)) switched it would help bring down the prices.

Then you are IMO truly mistaken!

A large proportion of the general public are too ill educated/ill equipped and !!!!!! to keep up with the ever changing energy market.

You only have to look at consumer programmes hosted by stumours like Dom Littlewood or the three old grannies who host rip off Britain to see that.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

    My point exactly

Joyful: Yes it is paid by the companies, but it is a joint venture between the government and energy companies required by law, would it not be better to be lawfully to ensure people are on the best deal?

ceedee1888: quite rightly you don't, and the reason that for a company to have a outbound call center they must have a system that is in place that automatically don't actually physically allow to be able to call TPS registered numbers. Problems usually arise when people don't realize that you have to resister for TPS every so often

So if they every single customer switched to for arguments sake Scottish power and left British Gas with no customers do you not think BG would reduce prices to gain back customers? extreme example maybe.

The gaining company would increase prices making the losing company appear cheaper so some people would switch back...many would just stay. All the companies in general make about 5-10% profit. They make that profit on customers that don't switch and compare regularly.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
