sky + box files transfer to pc

Dear all,
The box stopped working and am trying to transfer files from the hard drive to pc. It detects that there are files but does not show any. Any thing I can do?

I don't want to record any thing, I just want to recover what has been recorded. It says 149 Gb free, 1 gig used, which is wrong because the total personal use capacity is only 80gig.

Have taken the HD out of the sky box and connected it to pc.

this is correct, if I remember rightly, as half the drive is reserved for stuff like anytrime/box office/whatever (can't remember exactly, tbh) and that's the way it's set up from factory. I'm sure someone who knows the details of this will explain better than me

I have downloaded the software, it gives two options 'extract or copy'. I am not sure which option to use? copying it to another drive' does it mean I cannot play it on the pc? I have bought a similar old box on the internet and am waiting for it to be delivered. Perhaps replacing the hard drive will solve the problem?

As I understand it you can only copy the files to play on another Sky+ box with the appropriate subscription.That gum you like is coming back in style.0
