O2 contract termination help wanted
Options
Hi,
Sorry to start a new thread but after countless searching my question has not been answered elsewhere.
My 12 month contract was up last month and I phoned to cancel. I was advised by the CS rep that I could end this contract in writing or by porting my number to a PAYG sim which she would send out. As the porting option seemed easier than writing a letter I went for that.
After receiving my PAYG sim and PAC, I phoned O2 PAYG to transfer to be told that my monthly contract would only end and PAYG sim would only activate when I put a credit on my account.
Can anyone please confirm if this is true as I only went down this route as a lazy way of terminating a contract and have no use for a PAYG sim with credit.

Just stick £10 on the sim and then thats it, transfer the number and sorted. Yes you do need to add credit to activate the card, this is so the sim card does not expire.Kind Regards

Why won't o2 just give you a PAC code over the phone and take that as 30 days notice like the other providers do ?
When you got the PAYG Sim & PAC,couldn't you just bin the PAYG Sim and use the PAC with another provider ?0
