Thanks,
is it easy to get to other places from there for days out etc?Sigless0 -
I'm not a massive fan of the North Wales coast. Rather grey, plus it's costa caravan. Conwy is the least worst place. If you get decent weather (and that's a big if) the Lake District is much more attractive.
Part of North Wales is costa caravan but not all of it. The area around Rhyl, Prestatyn and Towyn has more caravans than you could ever want to see in the course of one lifetime but not everywhere is like that. Llandudno for example has very few caravan sites and the few that are there are well hidden from view.
For what it's worth I'd vote for Llandudno. It's easy to get to by public transport and road, it's small enough and for the most part flat enough to get around on foot and it's conveniently located for visits to Conwy (which is only three or four miles away). The train ride from Llandudno to Betws-y-Coed must be one of the most scenic in the country and (for a UK railway journey reasonably priced). The only slight drawback being that because the trains are quite infrequent you either get to stay in Betws for an hour and ten minutes, which may not be enough time, or otherwise you have to stay for four and half hours which may be too long. The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water
And I look like a tramp and tramps like us

We'll be going around the second week in feb.
Has anyone been to llangollen? Seem a lovely self catering cottage there but no idea of the area.
Decided to try and get some form of transport down there, I know you can hire vans/cars to take you to the airport and pick you up o am hoping to try and find something along those lines. But will defo be coming back via public transport.
They have a nice aquaduct.
PS Check out the Welsh Mountain Railway, the line was completed last year and now runs from Caernarfon to Porthmadoc via Beddgelert. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
llangollen itself is a beautiful part of Wales and steeped in history . Shops are good enough for window shopping and you can get there and around there by public transport easy enough . From liverpool get on the wirral train to Chester and hop on the x94 goes through llangollen (others will do too) There will be a way of getting up the horseshoe pass by bus and worthy of a trip although Feb you need to wrap up. Ellesmere isnt too far and have stunning lakes etc . Have a good trip. hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0
