tried that, tried everything i could think of and googled problem. nothing worked.
Edit: ie it went back to admin + password rather that admin + what you used when you changed it to not broadcast the SSID4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Aint no sunshine ☀️ Octopus gas fixed dec 24 @ 5.74 tracker again+ Octopus Intelligent Flux leccy0 -

debitcardmayhem wrote: »What I meant was when you logged in to your router eg 192.168.x.1 (belkin I think is x=2) your router would present you with a log in screen in Internet Explorer(or Firefox or Chrome or browser of choice) and you would have entered admin and a password, then you change the SSID not to broadcast , and set up the Password for Wireless access to be what you subsequently thought "so not to clever of me to have an easy password to crack". If you had used an ethernet cable then the router login would still have been admin + password, the Wireless password would not have been involved. I hope that explains what I meant.
when i connected laptop to modem via ethernet and typed http://192.168.2.1/ (this was after i had messed things up).i couldnt access the router login page.cant remember if it said page not found or whether i lost the internet connection.
do you mean i should have used the ethernet to change the ssid in the 1st place0 -
now this is helping me for the next time i !!!! things up lol. thanks.

debitcardmayhem wrote: »That would be a yes, if you change it via wireless(Edit or ethernet) the router will reboot and then ..... wireless won't reconnect until you put in the new password, and if you mistyped one ??. Change any router settings via ethernet, then whilst still connected test the wireless.
sunday the router wouldnt connect. definitely havnt mistyped any passwords.
ah well lesson learned i know not to mess with it again.

Yes, always have a network cable handy so when your mess up the wireless settings you can go into the modem router and change things back....we've all made that mistake I'm sure
