Love reading about other people having their kids in bed with them! Im glad Im not the only one! When we had baby #6 we invested in a supersized bed as at that point we had the three youngest in with us regularly and the older ones used to climb in first thing in the mornings! Now we have the youngest regularly, #5 usually, and #4 and #3 occasionally! The only problem for me is hubby has his 'side' and the kids all seem to share MY 'side'!! Our bed feels like the grandparents bed in the original Willie Wonka film lol!!

    Morning

Tesco have Muller Lights on at 4 for £2 and Asda have them for 6 for £3. If I bought 6 in Tesco, as the offer would only kick in for 4, would that generate a JTD?

Sorry, not very familiar with JTD, be gentle!

    Thanks :)

probably a few ps but 3 quid for 6 of them is still much too much!!! :p

My DD sleeps in my king sized bed with me too. Had both of my children sleeping in my room with me for 6 months after ex left. They were so traumatised by everything that had happened. (Long story and not nice). DS now sleeps in his own room, but I can't see DD going back to her own bedroom for a while yet.

Sometimes I think it would be nice to have the bed to myself, but I admit that I like having her there where I can keep an eye on her.

She obviously feels more settled and secure being near me, so I don't see that there's any problem with it. x

The ex left 8 months ago and I can't see the sleeping arrangements changing any time soon. I admit I've grown used to the security of having DS1 in with me. If either of them aren't well or if they cry during the night I don't have to move as far to settle them again. DS2 is teething again so he's been in the bed a fair bit recently too.

morning all. beautiful sunny day here in Kent ....very cold but sun is out so all good!

3dogs glad you arrived safely and we will all be thinking of you today no matter where we are xxx

you lot make me feel almost normal as we all do same stuff such as giggle when we should be in 'mum' mode, rock trolleys, have our kids in our beds for much longer than we are told we should......I personally had my babies in my bed for as long as they wanted, it only seems to be frowned upon in western society......I was so desperate for sleep that my logic told me at least I wouldnt have to get out of bed to soothe them lol. My son didnt sleep through the night until the day I came home with my baby daughter......he was 3. ... it didnt last lol

At the time I never thought it would end- but like everything with kids- every phase is JUST a phase and trust me it passes- to a different phase :rotfl:. I held onto the thought that it was highly unlikely that my teenage kids would want to share a bed with me :rotfl::rotfl:

they grow up faster than you think and it doesnt last forever no matter how it feels when you are going through it.:(

So child free and no work today..........no prizes for guessing where I am going when I get my lazy backside off this sofa!

I was reading about a girl I went to school with sending her DS to some sleep clinic (she's more money than sense, trust me!). They tried everything but he just won't sleep more than a handful of hours each night. I know if I put DS in his own room once out for the count, he'll wake up during the night crying and want back into my bed. At least he sleeps through the night when he's with me.

And yes, I too cling to the hope that once he goes to school he won't want t oshare a bed with his mummy. I should make the most of it now while I can especially as I'll start losing them 2 nights a week soon (well we'll see how long the mid-week overnight lasts - I think the novelty of getting 2 kids up & ready each morning before work will lose its appeal very quickly).
    Morning all!

I've got my meeting with DSes school today in about 30 mins, he's told me it's with the vice principal, (never met her) would have prefered the principal because I feel he knows DS well, and his own teacher. Again I've never had a meeting with his teacher so not too sure of how she feels about him either or what she finds are his problems in class.
Today is to talk about what secondary schools he wants to go to, I had to sit him down and tell him that he may not get into the school he wants due to his score in the exams. Last year the lowest the school accepted was 95, the year before was 96, DS got 83. I'm hoping that because his school year was a low birth year he has a better chance than he would have done. Still not sure what schools to put down and in what order, I know the ones he wants to go to but also know he has a slim chance of getting into them. The local high school is very good, it's the only one near us, there are grammar schoools then surrounding it.
I would prefer he went to an all boys school but his best friend is a girl and he doesn't want to go somewhere she couldn't go.
He told me this morning that he now wants to put an all boys school on the list, Inst or RBI, in Belfast city centre. It's a fantastic school but again I'm unsure if he could cope.
Just wish I had someone I could talk this over with :(

Have you though about Wellington hon? There are the obvious good schools in & around Belfast like Inst, Methody, Sullivan, Campbell but there are the other grammars such as Grosvenor and Wellington. Not sure which high school you're thinking of I have to admit that Ashfield looks a darn sight better these days but no idea what the standards are like.

If it was me I'd wait for a good offer, like 10 for 2gbp or b1g2f on multipacks and then stock up :) 6 for 3 quid is no offer for me! :p

Oh yes I love a 10 for £2 offer! Multipacks are no good as they have vanilla and toffee - bleugh - not nice on my bran flakes :)
