Did spot the Denby Black pepper with an ood SEL for £56ish. 1 box only on shelf . May be useful for someone who already has some and wants to add some?. Would work out at £28ish after DTD. This was the B+ll+ngham store:)

Denby Black Pepper Sets are firmly marked up with large signs at £85 in my local Extra.

Could be due to the fact that they had recently been marked at £42.50 on an OOD SEL and I took full advantage of it by buying 2 sets (simply because 4 place settings isn't enough for me when I have friends over for dinner).

Niceish CS lady turned into Queen Trout that day. She got so flustered that she gave me £172 back by mistake.:rotfl:

at least I copy and paste mine to my phone so I could be checking texts etc

If I did that I'd be putting my glasses on and off every 2 minutes trying to read the screen, and I'm already doing that trying to see the dates on the SELS:rotfl::rotfl:

Going to have to agree here, I used the same opticians from when DS was 4 and they were just getting more and more expensive:(They were an independent, small opticians on the high street but my own last pair of glasses from them were nearly £400:eek::eek::eek:The service was good but nothing special to be honest. I swapped over to T's opticians for all of us and my last glasses were £90 and BOGOF and the opticians were doubling cc vouchers so I only paid about £20. I get DS's contacts from there too and they are about £33 for 3 months supply. I had a business on the high street for nearly 20 years that I was lucky enough to be able to sell a few years back. I had lots of lovely loyal customers but I am so glad that I got out when I did because I would hate to have had it now. We are in recession, I don't care what the goverment says and at the end of the day everyone needs to cut costs where they can.T's opticians are fine for us, yes few teething problems in the beginning but we always see the same optician who is great and if they've made an error they always go out of their way to help. I'm all for supporting small businesses, me and DH have one now ourselves but you have to be able to compete and if you can't you don't have a business. It's harsh and horrible but people need to cut costs where they can.

Very very well said Nikki, much better than I did earlier :o:o:o
