the choice of discounts worked for me today on whoopsy items.
i got 3 reduced tappas £2.50 each down to 62p each.
on the pots i noticed it said 3 for £6 or 5 for £9.
although reduced, the till still took off £1.50 for the 3.
so i got them for 12p each.0 -

kandfs_mam wrote: »Just to throw my tuppence worth in about opticians - I have had contact lenses for 22 years and always went to my local independent optician. I paid £30 a month for the privelidge.
The receptionist was rude and surly and the optician repeatedly tried to sell me specs - quoting £350+ for a pair.
The final straw came in the summer when I had a letter saying my contact lenses were going up in price again - I spoke to the optician who shrugged and said well we have over heads. I collected my last lot of lenses (that had been paid for fully in advance) and cancelled my account.
I can get the same lenses in Asda opticians for £12 per month and that includes a 6 monthly contact lense check - the optician in Asda is lovely and i only wish I had made the move a long time ago. I thought I was being loyal to a local business but loyalty has to work both ways and ripping off long standing customers and offering poor service is not acceptable.
Rant over!
Going to have to agree here, I used the same opticians from when DS was 4 and they were just getting more and more expensive:(They were an independent, small opticians on the high street but my own last pair of glasses from them were nearly £400:eek::eek::eek:The service was good but nothing special to be honest. I swapped over to T's opticians for all of us and my last glasses were £90 and BOGOF and the opticians were doubling cc vouchers so I only paid about £20. I get DS's contacts from there too and they are about £33 for 3 months supply. I had a business on the high street for nearly 20 years that I was lucky enough to be able to sell a few years back. I had lots of lovely loyal customers but I am so glad that I got out when I did because I would hate to have had it now. We are in recession, I don't care what the goverment says and at the end of the day everyone needs to cut costs where they can.T's opticians are fine for us, yes few teething problems in the beginning but we always see the same optician who is great and if they've made an error they always go out of their way to help. I'm all for supporting small businesses, me and DH have one now ourselves but you have to be able to compete and if you can't you don't have a business. It's harsh and horrible but people need to cut costs where they can.Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:0 -

Hi everyone, just been catching up and almost there!!
Mrs 3Dogs, my thoughts are with you as you make your way 'home' again. It hurts like hell when a parent reaches this stage, brought back memories of my own late mother.
Please have a save journey this evening x
Happy your pics are lovely, I've enjoyed looking at then and look forward to seeing more. I'll have to track down my Norway pics and let you see them.
Went to T's earlier but like most, came back with no 1p items, nothing, zilch.
On a funny note, I went shopping before lunch and as I was walking up and down the isles I kept seeing 'new' clipstrip items and thinking to myself 'I wonder how much they scan at?' It was only when I realised that I had gone past the coffee that I wanted and the cereal that son wanted 4 aisles back, that the penny dropped, I was in ruddy Asda :eek:
Hubby said that he wondered why I took so long, oh well another day tomorrow.
Back to catch up now. There's no place like home
Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.
Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.0
