I went to T K Maxx and got a cake tin. On the label it says none stick. On the Mary Berry bags it says to buy greaseproof parchment, do I still need to buy this if the tin is none stick?

:T excellent. No parchment paper needed as non stick :)

Fourp says 'the race is on' ;)
He's photographed the tin & the Mary Berry kit

Yes as it helps to protect the cake, what I have done before if I have been out of greaseproof paper is use the butter wrapper on top of the cake to protect it then used dampened newspaper on the OUTSIDE of the tin using string to keep it in place :)

Wow - a BIG thank you to everyone who has taken time to comment on my query - namely Spiraling Down, Purdita, lookinforabargain, Miss Laid, dcon_blue, & Glass Pig (apologies to anyone I've left off!). One more question - I can see that the posts say x number of thanks, but how do I do that? Is there a 'Thank you' button that I am blind to? Help please! Glass Pig - P/fi3lD is not my local - thankfully, with that awful staff member - I was visiting: Lovely town. :)

yes there are a few trouts and trouts in training there (seriously I think I was getting evils from a 17 yr old a few months ago :rotfl:). It's good for 1p items though if you are there again. We used to live bout 3 mins walk away from the T's but unfortunately I was not aware of al the bargains to be had then.lol.

I would always use parchmont, particularly with a fruit cake. They are in the oven for a long time so it give a little protection from the metal :-)

Oh bensonsmum, just got me going too. So like our bichon and very similar characteristics - they do just want to be loved!
    Hope is not a strategy.

Although, I might head to the big T's as I peed off one of the SA's in my local earlier. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
