I am more than a bit annoyed, with Mr T and with myself! I put in some receipts to the price checker Tuesday night, 1 of which had a good JTD on.Results from all receipts EXCEPT the good one came in yesterday:mad:.

The good one just came now with it's delighful JTD. Only problem is I got fed up waiting and returned some of the items last night:mad::mad::mad: I just thought I may have put in the wrong email address with the excitement of the potential JTD and totally messed it up.

So now I have a lovely JTD that I don't think I can use unless someone knows different...:(

Last 2 JTD I have used I didn't have to show my receipt go for it :D

It looks positively wonderful Lutzi1, think I might have to look in to that for next year! Any idea when flights get released for next Feb?

Found quite a lot of reduced SEL's on the tea, coffee & hot choc section. Most of it had gone but I got some Tesco fairtrade teabags x 80 for 91p, I normally like to work on the penny a bag theory but it's getting harder these days so 91p for 80 isn't so bad.

    Hi Freddies!

I'm not entirely sure when the flights will come out, but rest assured I will be keeping my beadies open, and will give you a heads up as soon as I see some. Maybe we could all have a thread get together out there! LOL

Must admit I am coming round more and more to the "Get in when they are released" school of thought, rather than catching a Ryanair sale price. The bargains just aren't there any more, and I'm getting increasingly sick of Mr O' Leary's antics. (Not showing more than one price at a time on screen, the security hoops to log on, changing the payment method again and all the messing about and hidden charges with the new card, weighing the bags as well as putting them in the measuring cage etc etc....). Thanks to Sir Brainy I managed to get our summer holiday flights the day easyjet released them, and got a really good price, so I'm definitely going to watch out for this from now on.

As far as teabags are concerned I know what you mean - I too tend to have standard prices where I'll buy something. I can strongly recommend the Sainsbobs Basics teabags which are 80 for 30p, which I saw recommended on MSE and tried. This was discussed on another thread and quite a few people had also tried them and agreed. They're also Fairtrade which is always good. :A
    Hope is not a strategy.

  • DS is 11, the school seem to be taking the same stance as your DSes. Every time I ask them to test him they say there's nothing wrong with him just a firey temper
He goes like this when he's frustrated, he was in a different class last week who have a classroom assistant. They had to draw a parrot, DSes birds always look seriously under fed, anyway the class assistant insisted that he plump the bird out a bit and drew on his page to show him. All hell broke loose because she ruined his picture, he doesn't like anyone doing anything to his work so just about lets his own teacher do it.
The school didn't even tell me as they're supposed to I only found out because DS had big streaks down his face where he'd been wiping the tears away
The school don't seem to want to know, DS was labeled lazy in year 4 by a teacher who didn't like him and it's stuck. I have a meeting on Monday with the school about where he's going next year so will broach the subject again.

DSes spelling has been a problem, linguistic phonics are pointless for him as he doesn't get it. In year 5 I decided to teach him the way I learnt, by writing the words out 3 times, his work improved but the next year the teacher wanted him to learn the way the rest of the class did. His dad died near the end of that year so they put his problems down to that.
The problems are greater when he has to write, if he uses the laptop he's fine because he can check the spelling and if he makes a mistake he can easily change it. His teacher knows this so allows him to do a lot of his work on it and bring it in on a memory stick for her to check.

In the INCAs tests he's 3 years above in maths but 2 yrs behind in english based on his age. He's excellent in oral work according to his teacher but when it comes to written work he gets easily frustrated, they just don't seem to be putting 2 and 2 together. I have been told it's genetic and DH had it so just want to be sure DS is diagnosed if he has it or not before he gets much older.

My DS is the opposite - very placid & quiet - so much so I think he often gets overlooked!
The school should not have labelled your son "difficult" this is sooooo bad practice!!!!
Really need to push the school to have him tested properly but remember he will be in another school shortly - the high school should have better testing & procedures.
He sound like he has the same problem as my DS - phonetical dyslexia & possibly a bit of dyspraxia - they go hand in hand.
His anger is probably mainly frustration as he is clever & realises he is having difficulty in this area when he is so confident elsewhere, although he could be ASD.
You won't know until you have him tested so go in all guns blazing - they should refer you - it only takes one teacher to write the refferal, best to get the diagnosis now if you can then the high school can plan (sorry I know I'm sort of contradicting myself - what I meant before was don't worry - high school is not far away)

My DS had a fab year 6 teacher - her sister is dyslexic so gave him all the support he needed - shouldn't have taken until year 6 tho:mad: - I said from the beginning that he could not hear the phonics - didn't realise how bad it was until DS2 was learning them though. We also have a friend who teaches at a school for dyslexic children so she tutored him so he got good SAT results, we chose the high school bases on the good reports for the LS dept & he has settled really well & still get help 1 lesson a week

Sorry for the rambling post it makes me so  that schools still don't recognise problems & give kids the proper help.:o
I say "THANKS" to posts that make me smile - Oh and really good glitches.:j

Just go in and 99 out of 100 they will not ask for the receipt.... if they do then say you forgot it and pay the money and try again next time.

I think September last year was the last time I was asked for a receipt

I have never been asked for a receipt! It was more whether the voucher might not scan because the system would flag up a problem IYSWIM...

    And get lots of glitches!
  • I went to T K Maxx and got a cake tin. On the label it says none stick. On the Mary Berry bags it says to buy greaseproof parchment, do I still need to buy this if the tin is none stick?

I need to see an optician too, not seen one of those in 25 years I guess and know my right eye isn't spot on anymore. I put it off as I hate the idea of glasses...not a vanity thing, I even hate sunglasses, so damn uncomfortable! :(

Will sort both this year though....they are on my 'to do' list.

I been putting off going to the opticians but my eyes are going worse especially when watching the tv. Writing goes all blurry and my eyes water. I never wear sunglasses i am like you think they are uncomfortable. But i have plucked up the courage and going opticians in Mr T's next wednesday hopefully i will only have to wear them when watching tv :D
