Car is now back and im just £200 lighter in my pocket, plus the fuel i put in it. Im obviously in the wrong job, this is what i get for sneaking out of work and doing a quick run to Mr T's, im going to have to make sure i get a good few DTD's over the next few weeks to recooperate my pennies; hopefully lesson learnt!!!
Didn't you get the fuel back?
Garages will tell you it's ruined but it's not. One is heavier than the other so once it's settled it can be syphoned off and reused.0 -
I have just had week 5 finish, of my own personal challenge, of groceries etc for under £20 a week. All 5 weeks have managed it

Thats fab! How many are you providing for Midwinter?Quiz
Hi Folks , I'm sure many of us encounter the odd or thrice odd American question in the quiz and I'm sure we secretly hope that all our competitors get the same brain numbing jaw dropping inane question over the next few days or so just to even it out ...
I'm sure when Snap returns from Leafy Suburb Land she'll take on board any suggestions you make ...form an ordely queue and no flash mobbing or worse still flash dancing .
we're a bit restricted when it comes to categories to play but a
brief run down goes a bit like this ..

I love the randomness of it as it is! It makes me chuckle (& curse!!):rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Lovingtescoforever
Also if people realise you are great at getting super deals on food etc you will be mega popular ( mind you not sure your "roommates" are worthyz of your MSE knowledge!0 -
It's still reaaly early - trust me! Things change and also the number of rooms in each house are different so groups of house hunters do chop and change. Have you tried telling them you are looking for people to share with - sometimes they assume otherwise until you tell them.
Please pm me if you need help with Ni accom stuff or depression - been ther for both so if I can help I will ( mind yu my uni days were a few cough cough years ago)
:grouphug:
Is LTF in Northern Ireland? I do love the Irish accent. Room for one more in that group hug?0 -
Maybe just Aberdeen. Some will be ridiculously expensive, yet others are reasonable, very much depends on the city you're in I would think.
There are various search platforms for Lovingtescosforever to use, and that will give her/him, and idea of what's presently available and at what costs.
But time is the key, when DS1 went to his "insurance uni" there was very little accommodation to choose from as he was finding somewhere just 3 weeks before uni started. But we could see the prices of those that had all "sold out"
LTF have a look in the student union/comon rooms etc, there might be some notices on the walls of people looking for a house/flat share.:beer:0 -
Thank you Smart1e i will look and have a womble and get the CC points. :rotfl::T
You have to womble it's the law , otherwise you are letting yourself and all of us down....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:lol!
AND - STILL WAITING FOR PRICE CHECK!!!!!
Notice when they come back "Tesco was cheaper" they are sooo fast, yet when there's a possible payout it takes foreeeeever....:(Learn from the past, enjoy and appreciate the present and work to make your future the best it can possibly be
And get lots of glitches!0 -

Just for 3 of us. But I find it helps me, to set that budget, and that helps keep me focussedThe mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work unless it's open0 -
Things I didn't get top grades in at GCSE - RE, English Lit and Geography. There's your challenge
Missed out on the duvet AGAIN. Had to go to bed as I'm so dizzy I was actually holding onto the mattress in case I fell off. The boys seem to have given me a new strain of nasties that doesn't agree with me.
Sorry about your car Bensonsmum but I recall a work colleague doing this. He'd just changed his company car from a petrol to a diesel and forgot when he filled up. Thankfully being a company car he just got a slap on the wrist.
From memory it a lot harder to put diesel in a petrol car because of the shape of the nozzle but it can be done. Petrol in a diesel car is a lot easier but it's probably all down to the manufacturer. I have vague recollections of someone designing an aftermarket adapter that would prevent such things happening and also that Ford were changing the design of the filler cap so mistakes couldn't happen. No time t ocheck but I'm sure someone will tell me if I'm dreaming again.
Caz im so sorry your feeling poorly - sending big cyber (((hugs))) to you to get better soon. Yes your right about the adapter, have been reading about them this afternoon so may invest in one - nothing like closing the stable door once the horse has bolted :rotfl::rotfl:
Hopefully lesson learnt xxxVery proud to be Strip club member No 430 -

You don't need an adaptor, just a sticker saying 'Diesel' to stick above your filler cap.:beer:0
