Still, got £60 back dtd on 6 bottles of wine so an enjoyable shop nevertheless..:D:D0 -

Thanks for everyone that has asked how my dad is (Fudge-cake, Kymie, Majjak and other :A)
He is not great at the moment unfortunately. He has now developed what looks like more ulcers on his other leg (the newly infected one) and is just so down all the time
It is getting hard to try and keep his spirits up and now I have a stinking cold , I can’t even visit him as his immune system is so low it wouldn’t be good for him.
The nurses are starting to treat him a little better, but he is still in a lot of pain and due to go into surgery again next wk (the 4th time now I think).
He has had physio visiting him and trying to get him up and about, but he is in too much pain and now their just getting nasty. The other day they practically tried to force him to stand up and when he told them it was too painful, they just said ‘well you’ve had your pain killers haven’t you? The pain is never going to go away so you’d better get used to it’
He was devastated and got really upset and wanted to come home. The surgeon has never told him that he would be in pain forever so all this really upset him and I was so angry , as he had only been into surgery the day before, so was in loads of pain
They just keep giving him more and more painkillers, which aren’t working. Also the physio want him to sit and stand, but the surgeon has said he needs to keep his leg elevated for a large proportion of the day to stop it swelling. When he told the physio this, they just ignored him and took away his footstool .

Just remembered I had a "OMG I forgot" moment last night when falling asleep, don't you hate those? Anyway the thing that popped into my head was I didn't answer a post by Georges_mummy from a few days ago (or was it a few weeks
this thread moves in a different way to normal time.)
Anyway to answer the question (that I can't find and it doesn't need to be quoted anyway) The scanner in the Extra has been out of action for ages.
There I've done it now and I feel so much better. Phew (wipes brow) Sorry its a bit lateCouldn't think of anything witty to say so just keeping the space until I can

Probably been answered but I've not caught up and I can never find the posts I want to answer by the time I have caught up
The answer is just go back to the same web page and enter again. Instead of a message saying "we'll check and get back to you blah blah" it will say something like "this is already being checked". Just click back on your browser and enter again, sometimes it takes 2 or three times and then it will just pop up.

Motherbear - Sorry to hear you have been feeling down recently, sending you lots of :heart2: and :grouphug:'s, is there anything we can do to cheer you up?
Apennysaved - That’s an awful experience you had at t’s and definitely worthy of a complaint . I hope that the staff at that store, get a stern telling offand a reminder of how they should treat their customers
Bensonsmum - I’m glad your FIL will be coming home to you soon. When my dad was due to be released from hospital last time, my mum contacted social services and they sent her a carer’s assessment pack. They said that once she completed it and sent it back, they would be able to see what help they could offer her, but also enclosed was a leaflet about a local group that could supply assistance for about £4.50 an hour (this was not means tested). My mum had problems filling in the carer’s assessment, but when my dad was taken into the ICU, the sisters on that ward were incredibly helpful. They told her that each hospital ward has a social worker assigned to it and they would be able to help.
They also contacted someone on her behalf to assist her with filling in the carers assessment and explained that even when there is no help available on a long term basis, there is an emergency service available to assist when people are discharged from hospital back into the home.
It’s definitely worth talking with the ward sister, to see if there is any help available or a social worker assigned to your FIL’s ward, before he is discharged.
Sending you, OH and FIL lots of love and hugs
Tiny shoes - Sorry to hear your mum has been feeling so anxious and unwell, lots of :heart2: and :grouphug:'s to you both and I hope she managed to enjoy a nice birthday in the end.
3dogs - Well done to you and mr3dogs on your weight loss :T.
I’m so sad about the way the carers treat your mam in the home she is in, this is unfortunately all to common nowadays, but I am glad that she seems to be in good spirits. It makes such a difference to have you and your siblings being able to keep an eye on her :A and what is going on and I’m glad that there is at least one carer that keeps an eye on her too when you can’t be there and treats her well.
Snap-ant - I was so pleased to hear that your dad was home and adjusting, but now sad that he’s back in hospital with DVT. I do hope he starts to get better soon and he can get back home, where he is more comfortable. It will take lots of time for a fracture to heal, so he needs to make sure that he gets lots of rest.
I do understand how your mum feels, about wanting you to stay put at home, but you need to be with your dad if that’s where you want to be. Perhaps you and your sis? could book a cheap travel lodge or something, where you could all stay in the same room to save costs and then your mum won’t have to worry about cooking etc.
At least she is allowing some help from her friends, which is good.
The glass lift sounds really fab by the way
Meerkatsmimm - Congrats on the safe arrival of baby meerkat :j. The picture of both meerkats is just beautiful.
I saw this book in t’s the other day and it reminded me of you and your little Meerkats

sorry it's such a long post
I make notes on a word doc as I go along and copy any quotes that I want to respond to. That way I am not limited to 3 quotes and don't lose the posts
Trouble is, sometimes it takes me so long to catch up and post, that some of the comments I was going to make, are lost in time and my posts are then really longA clinically depressed person with a sleep condition. I'm in my own little world, but it's ok the people like me here
