Good Afternoon all, Baltic here in North London, but still no snow. :T
Working today, so just a quickie.
Welcome to all the new guys  nice to see new faces.
Got one thing to report; finally got the OH to check out the whoopsies in T's last night when she popped over for milk. She called and asked was anything needed, I suggested a visit to the appropriate aisle and told her to grab anything she fancied.
Good girl came back with 102 quids worth:
Cost £14.36 :j :j
Have a good day all. hugs to all who need them.
OB
PS. I saw the nasty post on the 1p thread. Guys, don't feed the trolls; it's not worth it..Last ciggie - 28/01/2012
If you are not paying for it, you're not the customer; you're the product being sold.0 -
And me but I love it here and here I will stay. I'm still debating whether to pop out or stay in. Oh heck, I'm staying in.
:T:T:T
I remember you posting there, I used to probably post more in 1p thread and lurk in the misprice/DTD ones, as never really got my head around old DTD until it nearly finished.
But here we get the best of everything. Love it.0 -
Got some phone calls to make so will pop back later. Still no snow in my area of SuffolkThere's no place like home
Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Noticed the other day you can temporarily exchange your CC points for Hungry Horse pub vouchers (only valid till April). We went to one the other night (it's near an elderly relative so handy for scooping him up and taking him out), and the food seemed to have improved a lot from previous visits and the value for money was excellent. So 'I'll be ordering some of these vouchers while they're available.
Have also worked out I can use CC points with the Avios improved deal to pay for car hire for our hols this summer, so v pleased.Hope is not a strategy.0 -
So pleased your FIL is finally coming home.
What level of care did they assess him as needing as some councils have had to cut back to only providing care for critical care.
My mum claims Attendance Allowance and did not have to wait to claim as did it under the special rules for terminally ill. Not sure if that has already been looked into for your FIL but it would certainly help my mum if she needed to pay for care if I was not around. In fact she did pay for someone to come in for a year when first diagnosed and because of her income did not have to pay full amount. Also because she gets AA she automatically gets a premium paid with her pension credit. HTHs
Didn't even know he could claim anything, he has been told its terminal and there is nothing they can do for him, (apart from paliative care) so i will look into this as you say it could pay for someone to call in when we are not there (im not home often as work away) just to keep an eye on him, and to make sure he has had his meds, and possibly give him something to eat. OH would love to give up his job to look after him but it would cripple us financially, that to some of you might sound selfish but we would be left with years of being in debt if he were to do this ( and have only in the last year got ourselves sorted, and thats because i work away from home) and i couldn't cope with that on top of having to watch him die. xxVery proud to be Strip club member No 430 -
:shhh: 2:00pm I start writing again! Until then, green's allowed! After that, red until 4! and I WILL NOT sneak off to do something else/watch something else.

You're not being selfish at all, just dealing with a very difficult situation as best you can, and your FIL certainly wouldn't want you to bankrupt yourselves on top of everything. When my mum was terminally ill she qualified for attendance allowance, so sounds like that could maybe help. Hope so. xxHope is not a strategy.0 -

missed your post before, tinyshoes is 100% correct, if he is terminally ill you can claim a speical allowance, the form is called a DS1500 I often fill them in, usually they are suggested by the district nurses or macmillan team (have you been referred to eother of these for support??) it is a difficult call as usually only applicable to terminal patients who have a life expectancy of less than 6 months-sorry if that sounds awful and this is so difficult to judge but your hospital consultant or Gp should be able to advise.
There are other agencies that could call in on him, have you tried Age Concern as well??
This allownace IS NOT means tested so even the queen could claim it ( I hope she never needs to but you know what i mean)!
HTH and good luck with itGRATITUDE WHEN GIVEN, PATIENCE WHEN DENIED
