Sadly NO snow here its just bucketing down, went to my local last night at whoopsie o'clock and all they had was humous and one rather battered sandwich, so not sure if i missed it all or if nothing there in the first place, but looking at the rest of the shelves - milk, bread, frsh veg and porridge etc; all in very short supply so i guess people have been buying up.
I have some good news about FIL they are sending him home on monday, so OH has put his bed in the front room as he can't manage stairs, they are giving us a dispenser box for his meds as he will never remember which meds to take when if we are not there, i asked if they were going to put some sort of care package in place as we MUST work and he will be on his own quite a bit - NO i was told he doesn.t need it?? He has a brain tumour which could cause him to drop at any time, he is registered blind, very unsteady on his feet - and he doesn't qualify!!! it makes me so Bleeping angry!! they said he can have one if we pay for it privately im so mad i could cry .
Thats good news about FIL but awful you can't have a care package. Makes me so  no wonder you feel like crying.0 -

Do you have a credit card with them? Or a loan or bank account (and maybe insurance too?)? These all come under the heading of Tesco Bank.
It's only a game

Did you do the car insurance quote as they were giving 300 points for new quotes even if you didnt take the insurance. I did mine and OH car but only got the one set of 300 points, should have used a different CC for the 2nd quote I guess.0 -

Same here for me!
However, I am sure I remember something on here a while back for doing something for free and getting free points? Was it a car insurance quote or something? Or maybe I am just dreaming it!0 -

Made me laugh and reminded me of this

(and I apologise, it does contain one naughty word, but it's just so funny, and it's permitted mainstream viewing on BBC One).
Friend and I were sitting watching clips of Mrs Brown on youtube the other night and just roaring with laughter - will have to look for a good deal on the dvds.

So sorry about your FIL, bensonsmum, it's obviously a worrying time for you. Does he at least have good neighbours who'll keep an eye on him and call you if there's a problem?
Best thing you can do when parents get very poorly (believe me, I know whereof I speak) is try to keep your own strength and spirits up, so you can cope. So amongst it all, try to keep watching the Mrs Brown clips!
Hugs and good luck. xxHope is not a strategy.0 -
Think a lot of them came over here! Me included.
And me but I love it here and here I will stay. I'm still debating whether to pop out or stay in. Oh heck, I'm staying in.:cool:There's no place like home
Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.
Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.0 -

So pleased your FIL is finally coming home.
What level of care did they assess him as needing as some councils have had to cut back to only providing care for critical care.
My mum claims Attendance Allowance and did not have to wait to claim as did it under the special rules for terminally ill. Not sure if that has already been looked into for your FIL but it would certainly help my mum if she needed to pay for care if I was not around. In fact she did pay for someone to come in for a year when first diagnosed and because of her income did not have to pay full amount. Also because she gets AA she automatically gets a premium paid with her pension credit. HTHs0
