Ask for like for like replacement, don't settle for any crap, this happened to me before and I got offered a corsa,

    I said "I don't drive a corsa, i drive a land rover",

Their once was a lady who lived at Tescos
She only went home to get her clean clothes
She scoured the aisles for 1p items and bargains
She checked every clipstrip, looked behind all the tins
She spoke of a time known as old DTD
When if you were clever, everything was free
Oh, those were the days she would say and sigh
When if offered BOGOF you would have to lie!
So come on T's give her a glitch
Even something small, just to soothe that itch;)
    Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:

Thanks OP ... I managed to get £40 DTD on Bob the Builder Delux Construction set ... SEL £9.97 scanned at £29.97

YAY ... I've started my Christmas shopping already!!!

BTW I saw a whole aisle top of remote controlled cars with red Half Price stickers (£70 to £35) ... this was my local store and was too chicken to go for two DTDs in one hit.

Oh and I also got a £5 condition MOC and a 10p off petrol voucher as well :j

I can never work out why some items compare and others don't!

Don't know if this has been answered (catching up) but the key to whether items compare or not is MySupermarket as this is the program T's use for Pricecheck. When you click on the picture of each item in MSM, the prices will pop up for each of the supermarkets or will show N/A if there is no match.

Eg, this one (branston Beans) is a match and good (at time of posting) for JTD

    http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/Shopping/FindProducts.aspx?Query=branston%20beans%204%20x%20410

This one isn't (Haribos) as shows N/A - even though you know both A and T sell the product, it doesn't match either because of slightly different weights of just because MSM have got it wrong (which often happens)

    http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/Shopping/FindProducts.aspx?Query=haribo%20starmix%20200

And this one is in theory a match as both shops show the same product, but there is a little star against the Asda price which means it is out of stock and won't compare, even though you may know the product is available by the trolleyful in A

    http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/Shopping/FindProducts.aspx?Query=honey%20shreddies

N/A or a star against any item means it won't compare, even if you know they are the same product and/or the very same products compared last week. What shows on MSM on the day of purchase is what will show on the Pricecheck comparison. Sometimes there is a N/A because the item is showing as out of stock in T, even though it couldn't possibly be because it is one of the items on your receipt!

It's a nuisance, but the only way to be sure is to check MSM on the morning of the day you shop and try to avoid price changeover days because MSM is often slow to update.

Hope that makes sense to anyone who is trying to do this! Can be very lucrative if using conditional spends or other coupons but very frustating when you don't get the result you expect.

Afternoon all:)Sneaked off work early intending to go to T's and their was miles of traffic because of an accident so decided to cut my losses after 1/2 hour and turn back and go home. Pulled off the main road and thought I'd nip into Boots to see what offers were on for my boots card and spotted lots of bits on a side shelf:T:Twith 75% off sign. Picked up a gift set for £24 got it price checked came up at £2.40:T:T:TLong and short it was all in the 90% sale and even the SA's didnt realise so I spent £13.15 and saved £118.35:eek::eek::eek:Result all pressies for DS's friends birthday as all lovely girlie bits. Then nipped into New Look and got 3 woolly berets and some boot toppers for £6 instead of £22, so all in all a productive afternoon;)

do you have a beret fetish?! :p:p:p

My first attempt at making a sponge:
Spend 5 minutes trying to fit the "turny" bits of the electric whisk on to the electric knife.
Google "cream butter and sugar until pale" and watch the video on YouTube.
Put butter and sugar in bowl and cream until I am looking pale and wan.
Beat in eggs (easy peasy) and sift (aye aye!) in flour.
Pour mixture into sponge tins and bake at 180 degrees.
20-ish minutes later, remove from oven, cool for 5 minutes and remove from tins.
Look perplexed at flat, sticky things.
Cut a small piece off one of the flat, sticky things and taste.
Throw flat, sticky things into the bin.
Find a Penguin biscuit in kitchen cupboard and forget all baking aspirations.

Well some idiot decided to park their works van in a parent & toddler space in tesco without a child and then proceeded to reverse out of it straight into the side of me. I've asked if they've got it on cctv in case i need it but they've rung back and said the camera was facing the other way.
I've just got off the phone from my insurance and they said they'll arrange for a courtesy car for me but it will be a corsa or something similar but my car is chevrolet orlando (7 seater mpv), theres no way we'll get oh wheelchair in the boot of a corsa.

    Absolutely agree!

Tell them they insured a Chevvy; tell them you want a replacement for what they were happy to take your money to insure.

You say OH in a wheelchair. if it's a Mobility car, talk to them. HTH

I don't think mr T uses MSM(it's Asda who use it) they have their own 'system' ;) It was always a bit of hit'n'miss but mostly branded(or own brand if same description/weight) items compare(and sometimes they don't for whatever reason or just 'stop' comparing out of a blue) it's just mr T! ;)
