In case there are any cooks around today, I have a couple of questions please
1 -Do you think this receipe would work in a slow cooker? I have a whoopsied brisket of beef in the freezer I need to cook sometime.
Or does anyone else have any good recipes? thanks :-)

2- Has anyone ever tried to make meringue wih sweeter instead of sugar?
Thank you xxx
Don't know about meringue, but I adapted a cheescake recipe to satisfy my sweet tooth.
600g cottage cheese
250g quark
1 Cup reduced fat cocoa
1 Cup granulated sweetener
3 eggs
A few drops of vanilla/orange essence
Blitz everything in a processor until combined, pop mixture into springform cake tin or similar and bake for 20-30 mins at about 180 depending on your oven. Cool overnight in fridge as not so nice warm.
This has no biscuit base and so only works out around 20 Syns for the whole thing.
Also re the sweet tooth, I make a quick ketchup with roughly equal amounts of Balsamic vinegar, sweetener and tomato puree. I think Syn free? HTH:)0 -
Dear me. I've just realised that I have had nothing to eat today except 4 cakes
Every cuppa was accompanied by a cupcake as they are just sitting looking sad and unloved by the cannisters!
The sky outside is looking pretty murky.
We went to an observatory last Tuesday night too but it went really foggy on the way there so didn't see owt. Pea soup was an understatement.
We were hoping for clearer skies tonight but it doesn't look very promising yet.:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

Thank you.
Morning all
Headed down to Mr T's earlier to check out the Prosecco but SEL and scanned at £5.99
I was wondering the same about ordering online. They don't give double the difference but I'm sure people have had success in the past in getting the offer price when they take a screenshot to prove it. In this case though it isn't going into the basket at the offer price so I'm not sure that it would apply0 -

I was going to ignore your post but decided to comment,I suggest you read this which is in the opening post to the forum:
Many of us want to discuss the various deals to be had but this was not appreciated on the main Grabbit forum. As such, we now use this thread to talk about anything from how to cook a baked potato to how to get 1p or 4p items through self-scan as quick as possible. We also discuss ex-husbands, kids and animals. If you have a medical problem we'll nag you until you go to the doctor. If you're not feeling well we'll provide support, a wee hot drink and whatever chocolate is currently glitching to cheer you up.
If the thread isnt how you want it to be I would politely suggest you go to the T's thread on the main board;)Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:0 -
