redfraggle wrote: »I appreciate the fear about Tesco's pulling DTD (I wouldn't know what to do) but remember that Tesco intriduced it originally because their level of misprices was significantly higher than the other main supermarkets. Trading Standards was about to hit them with a multi-million pound fine, and so they introduced R&R as it was to keep them at bay. Think about it, theyre the only supermarket to offer it, and there's no way theyre doing it out of the goodness of their own hearts. As always, its about it being abused. There were people hitting stores when it was R&R, buying 10 Xboxes and hitting stores for thousands. there were tales of groups of people hitting one store and clearing them out in one go. Thats what will get it stopped i think0

Couldn't find anything think in my local. Never spent so long in tesco before, an hour checking prices lol. Did admit defeat and buy something. Meal deal. However my JTD voucher didn't print the barcode out! Annoying. Hadnt realised.
:(Thats the way it goes sometimes, on Saturday because football was early I had an hour or so to kill before I met a friend for a meal in the evening, I think I must have scanned every clipstrip in the store & no wombled receipts either.0 -

You are so right with that, I've been before and spent ages and got nothing:(But other times can find loads.I think of T's as "my hobby" and when it goes right it's the most productive hobby ever;)I think that the good trips far outweigh the not too successful trips.Beware!!!! Shame about the cakes ... they sound yum!
Well I'm:- Finishing of my Self Assessment ... and not very happy since I've had almost zero work this year ... and it looks like I have to pay more tax than I thought I would.
- Preparing for an interview I have tomorrow ... for a job I don't want ... cos it would mean a move (to another country) and a HUGE upheaval ... hoping that the company will let me work remotely
- Making sure everything is in place for a 'mum sitter' and a 'child minder' for tomorrow
- Hoping something from the batch of clothes I got from Mr T yesterday will do me for my interview (juggled a few conditional spends)
- Having hair done (highlights) at a hair academy this afternoon
- Doing the usual stuff (tackling a mountain of daily washing/ironing)
- Fitting in a visit to Mr T?? :rotfl:
I would definitely recommend going in the warmer weather!!!!!
There are lots of educational resources on their site. Printable worksheets that can be completed as you go around the facility. We were numb with cold though.
They also have an inflatable dome that can be enjoyed by younger children as an accessible planetarium.
On the website you can print off plans to make a planosphere and print off a moon diary (very good for younger kids!):A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

I've not been on this thread since before christmas, i got a few cheapies when electrical was going cheap, and i had quite a few good dtd, but these seemed to have dried up in my store, or i was looking in the wrong place. Thought the harry hills 1p nuts were vastly over priced...........lol
Well we've decided to go to new york for his 50th in sept, so kinew we had to save save and save some more.
So i told him, no more bargains, no more visits to home and bargain............because i seemed to spend 7 days a week in h and b and tesco.................so far i've not been since christmas, i just on a sunday plan a weeks meals for us, depending on what morissons has on offer, my local supermarket, i shop on a monday and that's all i buy. I don't set foot into another shop for the week. Today i went to home bargain with daughter and spent £25 on nothing..........honest when i came home and looked into my bag i had nothing worth anything in it.
And you know what i save i've saved a fortune each week not going to mr t, for his bargins, because i always ended up spending more on daft bargains i never wanted or needed.
thank your for all the bargains i did get, but sit back and think........before you buy......i now have and my new york trip is nearly there.
thanks for the past hints and tips.xxx
Ah finally found the post was looking for;)This ones played on my mind for a few days because I sort of don't agree with it. I know that you can end up buying bits you don't necessarily need when you go to T's, but I don't you have to have a bit of willpower. Saving money at T's and cutting down your weekly shop does take a while before you really feel the difference. I could stop shopping now other than buy fruit & veg and could survive for months, and with some stuff years. My shopping bill each week is only 25% of what it was this time last year. You have to be committed to saving money, prepared to speculate to accumulate(bulk buy when its glitching) and then you really do see the results. I must be doing something right, my shopping bill has been drastically reduced and I have more "stuff" than I've ever had;)And I have more brand stuff and airfresheners and bits that I would never have even bought, and of course duvet covers!!
Sorry just wanted to put another side across on this one:)Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:0 -
Do you think it is possible to keep this thread i.e Tesco discussions to chatting about Tescos and NOT all the Waffle on births deaths marriages cooking photos of dogs cats cars children etc etc Surely the best place for this is twitter or face book lets keep this thread to tescos only I know I will get shot down but I expect it as I am a man0
