This instance is different to all other bannings in the weight of support behind HC and his reinstatement. I believe the mods should really take note of that and allow a poll (I know polls are not usually allowed on such subjects). I'd be happy for them to either word the structure of the poll decision or oversee it done by someone on here to make sure it was fair and unbiased.
We've all said we will vouch for him and guide him on an ongoing basis. Based on the fact he would be back effectively on a trial basis, I think the mods have little to lose and a lot to gain by showing a more human side. They are often criticised for being too tough or not transparent enough. They certainly have the opportunity here to silence their critics.
Question is, are they up to the challenge?
Totally agree with second para. However ....
I am going to stick my neck out and will probably get flamed, but I would urge caution in the campaign to get HC reinstated and think twice about trying for another poll. I think considered and consistent persuasion, and an appeal to the Forum Team's sense of fair play behind the scenes (as I understand Nikki's approach to be) will be most productive - and clearly a healthy dose of patience is also required.
Any actions, posts, pms etc that raise this thread far above the radar may risk getting the thread locked or pulled. If managing this thread and any issues around it (including abuse reports etc) take up a disproportionate amount of the Admin's time, then they can just delete it, no questions asked and no explanations given. Sorry if this sounds wussy, but have seen it happen before and reference made to the following post which, although quite old now and directed at the Arms/DT, presumably remains as a sticky on the Forum Policy Rules & Discussion Board for a reason - may be worth a read.

We all want HC back posting, but with the Forum Team's blessing because it probably isn't going to happen without it.0 -

I agree with part of what you said. I wouldn't avoid polls etc in fear of getting the thread closed, but I think they could be counter productive. Having said that I'm not sure how we can get the person making the decision to understand. It's so frustrating when decision makers see something as black and white, and don't look at the bigger picture.0 -

Night Debs,
I'm trying really hard not to eat after 8pm, but tonight I just had to eat something. So even with all the chocolate and sweets in the house I decided to go for a Special K bar choc and mint of course, still have quite a few left. It just about filled the gap I had. Think probably because I did not cook myself any tea and just ate mums leftovers (fish and chip whoopsied meal). Must make sure I eat properly so I don't have any gaps to fill next time.
No Ts for me today. Would have gone and looked for the Mars Bars if Wool had not already been.
Sorry can't help on the fudge brownies, my SIL makes excellent ones, good job she only does it on special occasions.0 -
Would have drilled through side of bath and connected to bath cold water supply, no need for the bends, clips and unsightly pipes.
Suggest you contact a chippie, and get quote(s) to box the chrome pipes in , make the top of the boxing extend over about 4 inches, into a shelf to put bath bubbly stuff on.Evening all

I can understand the frustration on this thread about this issue and would also like to see HC back. Having said that I think the bigger picture for the mods is not the same bigger picture that we see. (see RootedNomads post)Awaiting a new sig0 -

Question is, are they up to the challenge? That's a very good post with a very informative and revealing link. I hope everyone reads it although tomorrows(actually todays:o) skim readers may miss it. The HC campaign needs patience, focus and a careful approach lest it becomes a thorn in the side with the inevitable consequences:cool:
Fantastic post FK :T :T but I agree with Artha on the careful approach with Mods, which may well bring the result we want in the endMr 3Dogs 3-7-12
