Totally OT ... I fancy making up some hanging baskets and random patio pots this year ... but I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing.
Was thinking herbs in one or two baskets (can be sure they're def cat pee free this way) ... and some with plants that don't die after one season.
I have dozens of plant pots, a few baskets and new chains (courtesy of Mr T for 20p)
Of course I want to try and spend [STRIKE]nothing[/STRIKE] as little as poss ... :money:Does anyone have any ideas?0 -
Bring 'em in quick!! Have you seen the headlines today....they reckon we're in for a really cold snap starting today...and they are even giving snow for Devon and we very very rarely see it down here apart from on Dartmoor.
When I took the dog out this morning it was beautiful blue sky and I went for a really long tramp across the fields...even saw and smelled (they stink!) a fox on my travels (Purdy couldn't catch him tho!!) ....but it's turning grey very quickly right now.
Better get the washing in off the line methinks!
Knew that would happen!!! Can't get them in their still in beds but they're raised so will gamble and fleece them up. I just so knew this would happen because my red camelia is flowering and every year the flipping frost get's it:(Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:0 -

Hi all. Thanks nikki for the new thread. I haven't posted for a while, and have turned into a lurker,:o but I found a bargain today that I want to share.
In T's I found a stack of Thorntons Premium Collection chocolate gift packs, 96g for 75p. It was on a normal white sel, on the normal chocolate shelf. The box is about 4x4x3, with a red top and a stripy bottom, and a red bow holding on the label on the top right corner of the lid. Barcode ends 5495, and the best before date is 9/9/12.
The best part is that on the shelf next to them was a 210g box, and I think the sel said £7.99 . If you buy ten of the gift boxes you get 960g of Thorntons for less than a 210g box!!!
I hope this helps someone, and yes, I know that it's chocolate again, but the boxes would make lovely little thank you presents. Needless to say I will not be tempted, cos I joined Slimming World two weeks ago, and have already lost 8 pounds :j:j.

So the ceilings painted twice, skirts, window frame, door & frame all filled, undercoated and glossed before you start papering ?
Line of decorators caulk along ceiling/wall edges and above all the skirting boards and top of door frame.
Ususally i'd start at the most akward corner of door or window frame in morning whilst mind is fresh and good day light.
Make paste 1st, use a wooden spoon inside a drill to mix out the lumps.
add PVA to the mix for sizing the walls with, paste 1st wall.
Measure width of paper then mark start and finnish point on wall using a spirit level, the 2nd line should match exact when you put paper to it, get 1st one right the rest will follow.
Cut 1st drop, paste it then leave it to expand for 3 minutes before you hang it.
You should have enough paste on wall and on paper to slip paper into place without ripping it.
re corners make sure to apply plenty paste around these as most times thats where i'd start stripping.
If you get bumps pull the paper off, remove lumps using a seperate sponge and clean water bucket to soak away.
Use wet car wash sponge to smooth out paper.
Trim bottom edge skirt before paper drys.
Take a step or 3 back and look at the paper before you cut next drop.Back to square one, no apg, no comment.0 -
