MacDonalds and MET

I have read a number of articles regarding parking tickets and have received a Parking Charge Notice from MET for parking too long at the MacDonalds in Colchester. I have contacted the MacDonalds who do not want to know and only advice was to appeal direct to the MET. I note that the common suggestion is to ignore ignore ignore....but I am concerned... Should I simply ignore or try to appeal....weak as it may be - my only defence is time taken to eat at the MacDonalds, so I dont expect a resounding success with that but am unsure of the best action - could someone please assist me preferably before my wife kills me for getting a ticket lol. Haribo2000

Just ignore these clowns. They are not the police or the council so it's not a proper "ticket". It's an unenforcible invoice which you don't have to payWhat part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Why on earth would you even want to communicate with scammers - especially after seeing what works best for everyone else?
All contacting does is make it seem that you are taking the clowns seriously and it will prolong the attempts to scare you into payment.
Ignore nd they go away quicker.0 -
Write to the head office of McDonalds with a complaint, don't know who the chief is in the UK but address it to him/her , do a search on google for it, enclose a receipt from burger king in your area and tell them you will use them for you calorie busting snacks from now on
because they have scammers harrassing customers outside their stores.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
I assume that you contacted McDonalds Customer "Services" ? Useless. Go straight to the top.
Ignore the PPC and complain to the McDonalds CEO :

I ignored a ticket from CP Plus. They stopped after just 3 letters.0

Your wife won't think you've got a ticket (as you have not, it's a fake PCN!) if you both read/watch this:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/watchdog/2010/04/mcdonalds_parking.html
and then definitely watch this:

When we say ignore it we mean exactly that, debt collector letters and all! Just play snap with each letter that matches the pics others have already posted in our top thread 'PPC letters & threats'. That is the best action for such a scam.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
