bump ....to try and gather info re other peoples experience with the FOS
Sit down, it doesn't make pretty reading.
1 February 2010: I complain to my bank.
10 February 2010: Bank acknowledge complaint & promise to investigate.
23 February 2010: Bank rejects my complaint.
23 February 2010: I refer my complaint to FOS.
10 March 2010: FOS acknowledge my referal.
25 May 2010: FOS adjudicator finds in my favor.
30 June 2010: FOS inform me that bank rejects adjudicators advice.
14 July 2010: FOS adjudicator refers my complaint to ombudsmen.
January 2011: I write to FOS for update on my case, I'm advised that my complaint is in the queue waiting for an ombudsmen and not to expect resolution for another 6-12 months.
11 March 2011: FOS adjudicator writes to me with the same information given to me in January.
25 March 2011: FOS adjudicator writes to me almost the same (letter for letter) letter.
3 May 2011: FOS adjudicator writes to me with essentially the same information as previous letters.
9 September 2011: FOS writes to me informing me my bank would like to make me "an gesture of goodwill offer with no admission of liability, to settle your complaint". Then A month or so of silence from my bank & confusion from FOS follows, after initially being assured by FOS that the bank were informed of my acceptance of their offer they call to tell me that the offer was actually made "in error" and no offer was actually made at all.
14 October 2011: FOS writes to me confirm "offer in error" and promises to "expedite" my complaint.
22 April 2012: I am still waiting, no further contact from either bank or FOS.
As you can see, it's almost 26 months to the day I referred my case to the FOS. Sorry I can't supply better reading.:www: Progress Report :www:
