Hi all,
I have for the most part of today tried to work out how to set my tv so that when I switch it on,it don't turn onto the analogue channels automatically..i want it to turn onto my hdmi sky input..how do i go about doing this as it is really drivin me mad?
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

There is no autoswitching function built into HDMI connections unfortunately (unlike SCART). You can connect your SkyHD box with a SCART lead as well as HDMI then the TV will always (provided the Sky box is on) come on to the Sky box (albeit on SD) and you can select the HDMI input when viewing HD channels, it's a bit pointless viewing the SD channels over HDMI anyway - you don't gain anything image-wise.
If you had a Panasonic TV then they have a "power on preference" setting which you can use to always select HDMI input when you switch it on, however Sonys don't have this. ;-)
You don't need the Sony remote to change inputs on the TV, you can use the Sky remote. Press "TV" then use the "help" button to scroll through the TV inputs (don't forget to press the "Sky" button to work the Sky box again!)0 -
Thanks very much for your kind help...I have sorted the problem by installing a scart onto the system as I don't use the HD channels anyway..0
