stick it on ebay and find out.
a piano is worth what someone else is prepared to pay for it.

beware that uprights (esp no name ones) are virtually worthless.
ive been given at least three pianos in the last 20 yrs.
    Get some gorm.

You may end up having to pay to have it taken away. In modern houses there just isn't the space and people can get electric keyboards that can do a whole lot more.

  • We got given ours. I imagine its quite a difficult market. If i had bought one I think id have only considered buying a second hand one for a few hundred. Made my children have an electric keyboard for about a year whilst having lessons before having one as did think of size and kids not keeping it up.

  • Pay to have it taken away? are you kidding! id smash it to bits before that happens. its my sisters shes moving home and they dont want it, was just for a rough value but yeah as you say its only if someone wants to buy it.

ebay is no go as we live in shetland, so its in local ads.

it does have a name RW Pentland in edinburgh was a distrubuter and im assuming Whyte and Co were makers however the interweb is full of garbage tonight so im finding nothing helpful

see if we get many viewings

  • true! apart for the spectacular Northern Lights weve been seeing last few nights! reminds you why you live here
  • They burn well on a chilly night. Sad, but true. A piano was left in a house we bought - we tried to freecycle it, but no takers. We ended up sticking it in a friend's van and dropping it back to the people who'd left it there in the first place. They were DELIGHTED to see it dropped outside their new, even smaller rental property. Not.
Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!
  • Push it out onto the street and make it a street piano. Let it run free like nature intended! :p

  • What about giving it to the local community? i.e. church or village hall.
