    You have a problem here - There is a known technical issue with HP G62s and their wireless cards. If you have a look at the HP tecchie boards you will find a lot of info but last time I looked, not a lot of it is good.

    TBH, your best solution is to get on to Ebay/Amazon and buy a little USB wireless adaptor for £5-7, this is small enough to leave parked in a socket without risk of being bashed. Then disable the internal adaptor and install the USB device instead.

    This seems to be about the only permanent and reliable solution to the problem.
