The companies may have their own websites or if you list the names of the companies here, someone may be able to help you..

I've a very nasty feeling about these companies - OMI and Pex both seem to be in administration and the LSE has no record of MV Sports. I think you might want to sue your IFA.0

who said an IFA was involved? given that these are direct equities, it is very unlikely that one was involved.
But a kneejerk "I GOTTA SUE SOMEBODY!!!" is always more fun than a "bad luck old chum".I'm an Investment Manager. Any comments I make on this board should be not be construed as advice, and are for general information purposes only.0 -
MV sports group seems to have been taken over/purchased by Tandem Group plc 2 or 3 years ago..

I'm feeling nice today - here's a synopsis of the deal:Tandem Group Plc, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, England, manufacturer of bicycles, acquired by way of a recommended offer, the entire issued and to be issued share capital of MV Sports Group Plc, Birmingham, West Midlands, England, a company engagedin the sale and distribution of sports, toys and leisure goods. The offer was implemented through a scheme of arrangement under Section 425 of the Companies Act. As the scheme became effective, under its terms all the MV Sports scheme shares were cancelled and MV Sports scheme shareholders received Tandem ordinary shares in consideration on the basis of 2 Tandem Ordinary shares for every 43 MV Sports shares held. The consideration values the whole of the current issued share capital of MV Sports at GBP4,258,942. The middle market price of a Tandem ordinary share at the close of the business on 31 January 2003, being the latest practicable date prior to this announcement, was 3.5p. The offer represents a premium of 16.3% to the price of 0.14p, being the middle market price of an MV Sports at the close of business. Tandem also announced that it is planning a share capital reorganisation which, if approved by its shareholders, will result in an effective consolidation of the Tandem ordinary sahres on a 10 for 1 basis prior the the schedule becoming effective. Therefore, if the Tandem share capital reorganisation does proceed then MV Sports shareholders will instead receive 2 New Tandem shares for every 430 MV Sports shares held on the record date. On completion it is Tandems intention to de-list MV Sports shares from the Alternative Invesmtent Market of the London Stock Exchange. In support of the deal HSBC Bank has provided a GBP2.5m three year loan together with overdraft facilities of up to GBP3m. This replaces the previous facility which was repayable on demand. An inducement fee has been entered into whereby MV Sports agreed to pay Tandem GBP100,000 if in the six months following the date of this announcement either the MV Sports board recommend, inter alia, an alternative offer or if an offer by a party other than Tandem is declared unconditional in all repects for MV Sports.I'm an Investment Manager. I was only joking Christmaths, I'd forgotten it's difficult to do jokey on boards. Given that these seemed to be gt's only shares, I didn't really think an IFA - or anyone - had advised him on them.0

ALSO - I know, it wasn't gt, it was Gazpro.0

For every 430 shares you owned in MV Sports Group, you now own 2 shares in Tandem (TND), and here's a quote.
Oh dear..Not looking good is it?0 -
Smileys help.
Just don't like compo culture - and it's not that uncommon for people round here to start jumping up and down and demanding redress for things that are largely their own fault.I'm an Investment Manager.
