letter regarding "arrears"

Does anyone know the correct way to reply to a letter I've had from a collection company called DLC?
I am now in an IVA and thought that creditors were not supposed to write to myself but to the IP but not this bunch- today I got a letter telling me the account is in arrears and sending a default notice- but it isn't in arrears under the terms of the IVA which has been consistently paid since the outset.
I am not sure they can write- or send more default notices- but can anyone tell me the best way to reply please?
My IP always tells me to ignore such letters but in my view its storing up problems for later because default notices stay on your credit file for a number of years, and now a legally binding arrangement is in place then unless that is breached surely they should just shut up now?
thanks

Hello,
You should forward the letter to your IP and they will deal with it from there.0 -
we are also in a plan with dlc. they seem to send out a letter once a year saying how much the total that we currently owe them is. it looks scary and the first one i thought they were asking us to pay it and paniced but it seems to be their version of a statement so hopefully this is all yours is too.0

Thanks for the last reply- I don't find it scary just irritating- when you are in an IVA creditors should not contact you directly they should always contact the IP and I intend to remind them of that fact!now debt free and determined to maintain good spending habits and build savings0

great news-I never got round to writing and good ole DLC (thats Direct Legal Collections- what a stupid name for heavens sake) who must read this site then sent out more paperwork headed "annual statement"- sorry to rant on here but yes- I think they are progressing towards the realisation that an IVA does not involve the original debt but agreed repayments and a deadline for payments to cease- so their statement is heading towards being correct now all they need to do is write and send that kind of stuff to the IP rather than myself- I won't bother writing will just leave this post for them to read and correctnow debt free and determined to maintain good spending habits and build savings0
