TV with in built hard drive

My Mum needs a new TV, and a new Freeview box recorder.
If it were up to me I'd buy them separately but she wants to have them combined. She probably wouldn't need much space... Does anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks for any advice

Not a good idea, if one fails you have lost both devices. About as sensible as a TV/DVD combo.
I've never seen one, presumably because there is no room to fit a 3.5" hard drive into a slim LCD TV chassis.
Much better to get a Humax 9300T as a separate unit.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Never ever seen one, and as macman states, if there's an issue with one - you lose the ther until it is fixed. I agree integration (and a single remote control) is the way to go, but you might have to await the new Apple TV before that happens.0

You'd also presumably get fan noise, vibration, and heat dispersal issues?
I can't see it happening until such time as SSD storage becomes much cheaper and eventually replaces mechanical disk drives. We are still a few years away from that at present. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
LG and I think JVC did one a few years ago, the LG set was a collaboration with Humax and the JVC a Vestel clone I think. Some sets now use USB memory sticks to record from the built in Freeview tuner and some support external USB HDD's. But to get the best out of all, follow the advise above get separate units.0

I vaguely remembered when we bought our Sony Bravia a few years ago we were tempted by an LG TV that came with a hard drive installed etc - good to know we weren't mistaken.
I thought it was peculiar that we didn't see them any more. I will let her know you don't get them together - thanks very much
I would recommend to her the Bravia for it's quality... But does anyone have any "reliable" cheaper models? She wont be bothered about how decent a picture she can get as long as the TV will last 5-10 years. I know so many cheap ones that start breaking down early. I think if she buys a Bravia she'll be paying a premium not only for it to last, but so it will be "perfect" sound and picture, which isn't worth the money to her.0 -
LG or Samsung are the better budget brands. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
