    Hello All,

Bexsmum - sounds like you are getting organised and have a lot sorted out already, well done :j

    • Venue booked
    • Church date/time booked - been two out of six services so far
    • Cake booked and agreed design
    • Disco booked
    • Photographer booked, having pre-wedding shot in November too
    • Wedding dress and shoes sorted
    • Adult bridemaid dress sorted
    • Children bridesmaid dresses - being homemade need to get material
    • Wedding invites/Order of service - homemade, need to create wording
    • Hair/Make up booked
I have probably missed something out which has already been sorted, still a lot to do though.

Would be nice to know how everyone else is getting on.

    We have:
-Booked the venue and paid a deposit.
-Catering is booked through the venue so just need to finalise our choices.
    -Brooch bouquet is made (mine)
-Brooch and foam flower bouquet is made (bridesmaid)
-Bridesmaid dress is bought (she is using jewellery and shoes she already owns as they can't really be seen as the dress is a long one).
-Photographer is booked and deposit is made.
-I am halfway through making the buttonholes
-Save the dates have been sent out
-Invitations are finished (thanks to my hubby to be) but we just need to finalise the gift list and wedding breakfast so that information can be added before we send them out).
-Brought the wedding dress, veil, jewellery and hair piece

I nearly listed everything that needed doing but stopped and deleted due to the length of it lol. I thought I was organised until I did that. But it's ok because I have 6 months and 6 days to go.

Finished the invites :j Going to be sent out early next week.

Does anyone know where I can get shrugs for 3 year old and 11 year old which has arm holes not just going over the shoulders in ivory?

    Thanks
  • Hello,

Have just managed to find some boleros for the children from Debenhams and ordered them. All invites have now been sent out and apparently our wedding information sheets are very good yay!!

Morning ladies - I've been away on holiday and slightly harrased at work too.... but I worked out only 20 weeks until the wedding and the panic started to set in!

blondy24 - sorry I didnt see your post until it was too late but I have seen the boleros on ebay too (although from China!) and BHS had them in a while ago but I'm sure they would be getting them in again with the autumn/winter season upon us.

Thought I would share a photo of my 75% completed button bouquet which I am officially in love with. I've bought far too many extra buttons on holiday so I've suggest to OH we ask the florist to put a few in his buttonhole. What does everyone think, would it look ok?

Anyone else want to share some hints/tips/makes as our little January thread is quiet compared to the busier months

Now Mrs! Still mum though.... :D
    Holiday 2013
    January - Dubai
August - Disney World & New York
  • Hello Bexsmum, your bouquet looks lovely, different and unique but very pretty, you should be proud, I would not have the guts to do something like that.

I have bought a couple of children shrugs which fit.

Invites have been received by all our guests they have a couple of weeks to reply :D

Bought some sweets for our sweet table, table plan material, post box flat packed.

Am going on holiday in two weeks for 9 day AI break yay :j soooooooo excited can't wait. Will be stressful when we come back end of October.

If any other brides/grooms can give any good advice for Bexsmum and I that would be much appreciated.
  • Another January 2013 bride here and planning is well underway. I'm also having a brooch bouquet but I bought mine off ebay for a ridiculously cheap price. I'm just not crafty or patient enough to make my own!

The band and caterers were booked last week so now it's just a case of waiting for the big day.

My dress fits; just need about a foot taken off the length as I'm a shorty.

It's starting to feel real now which is a bit scary...

    Hello All,

Welcome to the thread SkateyKatey :D What date are you getting married and I will add you to the front page. Also if there is anyone else getting married in January you are more than welcome to join this thread, the more the merrier!

I can't believe it's two months today until I get married arghhhhh!

We met our photographer again yesterday and had a pre-wedding shoot which was lovely and has put me at ease with knowing what to expect on the day and made me feel more comfortable, looking forward to seeing the pics :)

    We also went to have a chat with our florist and managed to get this under budget :j maybe our budget was high at £1000 (I know not very MSE) but we have managed to get the following for £400;
    • My bouquet - medium sized with claret and cream roses, ivy, pearls and berries with ivory ribbon and pearls on the stem.
    • Adult bouquet - smaller size without the claret roses or berries and with claret ribbon.
    • 2 x children - 3 Ivory roses with claret ribbon and pearls on the stem.
    • 4 x buttonholes
    • 1 x ladies corsage
    • Top Table arrangement
Hopefully this isn't too bad a price for this, I am going to buy some artifical flowers and square vases and put these on the fireplaces at the venue and decorate the church myself. I was thinking of artifical or real flowers for front of church and then these on the pews with some claret ribbon attached so they can hang down lower than at the mo, please let me know what you think (http://www.next.co.uk/g48614s6#797249g48)

How is everyone else getting on?

    Take care x
