Virgin Media Rates for 2012

A friend of ours works for Virgin Media and has offered to recommend us for a "Mates" package. She has no idea how much its costs and whether it includes the TIVO Box. We are told it covers telephone, broadband and the highest television package(XL). A monthly figure of £38.01 has been mentioned for a 2 year contract. Has anyone got any information or know where i can find the Virgin Mates rates.

If someone who actually works for VM can't find out the details of a product that will net her a commission, that rather says it all about VM...
But if you Google it there are lots of link to this on various forums.
But do you really want a 24m contract?
PS: personally I think Branson is having a little in joke here, 'Mates' being the brand name of his former condom company.

It will not net OP's friend any commision so that will be the reason she has no idea of the cost.
My sister gets mate rates from her brother in law and has XL BB TV and Telephone and a Samsung Galaxy Mobile. She pays 35.00 for the lost each month which is amazing altho he is due to be finished soon due to the Liverpool site closing so not sure if she will lose the current plan she has

I've just been introduced to Mates Rates by friend cos my Sky contract has now run out.

As soon as I am connected I will post FULL details of exactly what I get and how much I pay for it.

This whole "secrectiveness" of Virgin Mates Rates is becoming rather boring.

My friend has already done me a favour and I'm not gonna start phoning him every time I have a question about it. I think he said it would cost £42.00 for one tivo box, one virgin box, XL TV, XL PHONE and XL BROADBAND. I want to upgrade to Sky Sports and again "I think" he said I would get £33.50 off any package. The thing that worries me though is that I;ve heard the people who phone you from Virign (i.e. installations dept.) claim to know nothing about the different packages available including Mates Rates. This is why I'm trying to find out some information without bothering my friend any further.

Any info from people who have recently joined Virgin via the Mates Rates packaged would be very much appreciated.:)

Ok, as promised, here are the details of the current Virgin Mates Rates package. Well, this is what I got offered anyway.

PLEASE NOTE YOU CAN ONLY GET MATES RATES THROUGH SOMEONE WHO WORKS FOR VIRGIN MEDIA. THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO GET IT.

XL TV
XL PHONE
XL BROADBAND
1 TIVO BOX
1 VIRGIN BOX
FREE INSTALLATION

COST £41.01 PER MONTH.

SKY SPORTS AND MOVIES CAN BE TAKEN OUT AT EXTRA COST.

I ALSO PAID £2.50 EXTRA TO INCLUDE CALLER DISPLAY.

YOU CANNOT GET MATES RATES IF YOU ALREADY HAVE ALL THREE SERVICES WITH VIRGIN.

You MAY not be able to get Mates Rates if you already have two services with Virgin but I'm sure someone who works for them will correct me if I'm wrong.
