Browsers are such a personal thing. People take a dislike to one or another or there's a bug or security loophole so they change and never go back even if the problems are fixed.

I'm a Firefox user on my Mac but we use IE at work. We were on XP and IE7 I think but my laptop has just been replaced and our latest corporate build is Win7 and IE9.

I find it a very competent browser, faster than the older versions and as far as I can tell every bit the equal of Firefox for general use.

I used to have multiple browsers on my home machine and to be honest non of them struck me as significantly better than the others. I think Firefox got picked because it did Tabs rather than multiple windows but they all do tabs now.

Yes I agree that it is a personal thing but IE is still playing catch up! This thread is a good example of the of the versatility of Firefox. How does an IE user easily disable tool tips?

I have used Firefox as my main browser for many years, with NoScript for safer browsing and AdblockPlus and Stylish add-ons, so that I only display what I actually want to display on my screen e.g. I don't want to see a picture of the Shepherds Bush hit squad displayed at the top of every page, so that along with the hideous orange 'Post A reply' button at the bottom of each thread so they disappeared as soon as they were introduced.

I do understand why they want all of the extra crap displayed on the forum pages but it's not part of the forum and it does make using this forum much harder than it needs to be on small screen mobile devices!
 Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:
