Coryton refinery shut down

Another one of the bankrupt Petroplus's refineries. Shut down due to lack of funds.

This is the only refinery in the London area. (Although oil products are piped in from more distant refineries such as Immingham, etc).

So if you live in the South East and need some oil, it might be a good idea to get it now. (As in today!)

Sadly, many people with oil heat are currently too worried to turn it on, plus we've had fairly warm winter this year, so oil demand is likely much lower than before. Certainly, oil finds its way to the UK from far away places like Dubai, so the final journey from refinery to your house is quite small really. Maybe it won't make such a difference in the end to local prices? However, time will tell and buying now if you can may be a safe bet.
