I'm going to paris in May. well, i was told by some friends it's cheaper to change euro in france than in the uk. wondered if it's true? and also as this is the first time i'm going to paris, how much do you suggest me to take in cash?thanks in advance.:)

13. Haggle with High Street travel agent (which may ensure better rates than 5 to 9 above) - pay and pick up instore.

With 1 - 4 make sure you tell your card provider you are going abroad, where you are going and for how long, so they can put a note on your account.

With 5 - 13, if you are paying with debit / credit card check your T&C's as many providers charge for the privilege of using money exchange services.

Sorry, basic question here - how do you buy from Thomas Exchange Global? I can't see anywhere to order on the site. I want to exchange £2K into American dollars and they seem to have the best rate. Is this ONLY an 'instore' option, iyswim?

Edit: Never mind, I phoned them to query. They will post your currency out as long as you pay by bank transfer to their account and you pay £5 postage. I only wanted to query things but they are a bit pushy and asked for name/phone number details and said they would email the info to me and then phone me to facilitate my order. I'm not even sure I wanted to exchange right now, I was only considering my options.
