Paypal want proof of postage

For some reason a payment was reversed by bank or buyer and PP say they want proof of postage as follows.
>>Please be sure that proof of postage meets all of the following criteria:
- It shows the status as posted or delivered, or shows a postmark
- It confirms the date you posted the item
- It includes the recipient's full address
The most commonly accepted proof of postage is a copy of your postage label
that shows the postmark.<<
I have proof of postage but thought that PP would go in favour of buyer if not sent regsistered? How can I send copy of postage label?

You need to fax or scan your proof of postage, as per the details in the reversal.
Tracking is needed for INR only.0 -
Just photocopy or fax the proof of postage if they want it.
You would need to keep the proof of postage in case you wanted to claim for loss of package/envelope from royal mail.0 -
Thanks. I don't understand why I have to do any of this, just because payment has not been made by bank. Am I missing something?0

No, payment is nothing to do with your bank, it is the buyers bank that are disputing it.0

Ah, thanks. I was being a bit dim.0 -

By proving you have posted item PayPal seller protection kicks in to protect your money.
Without that proof of posting you would lose the money as PayPal will refund the buyer.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. It's confusing. Most think this s a dispute, it's a chargeback.
PayPal only need proof posting to reimburse your payment via seller protection for unauthorised chargeback.
Why is there a difference?
If a buyer claims INR the seller has to prove delivery via a signature.
For a chargeback you only have to prove posting.

Most of the time the buyer is unaware of the matter and whilst Paypal blame the bank I'm sure that the majority of times it's something to do with Paypal. If you have proof of posting then obviously send to Paypal, if a bank reversal happens when there isn't any proof of posting most buyers will repay after being contacted. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0

Thanks for all the replies. I was a bit worried proof of posting would be insufficient, but maybe that's with ebay. Will need to get organised before the cut off date!!
Plumface, I think that's what confused me also. I don't understand why the charge back has happened. The buyer has not contacted me, so I'm guessing it's as ludovico points out and the buyer has no idea. Trying not to overthink it where PP are concerned.0
