I used to live at uni halls that was right next to the local fire station.

They had a large tower that they used to use for training right next to my window (right next to = 15m away to the right)

They had frequent training sessions in there, starting at around 6am weekday and weekend mornings. It wasn't too bad, as I was normally waking up around then anyhow, but to live next to it constantly, it would have driven me potty.

The units they use are not quiet, fire engine engine noise, water pump noise, water noise itself and them hollering at each other.... all added up.

If I was you, I would object strongly, as it is not (unlike the one I was next to) a manned station and the reasons for it to be that particular station don't really stack up from reading your post.

We have really good double glazing already so with the windows closed it's really not a problem. It's just that at the weekend is when I'm not at work so like to use my garden.

It's a retained station so the firemen are only there if training.

It's too late for objections, planning permission has been granted but I will be keeping my beady eye out to see if they break any of the restrictions and so will all my neighbours.
