Could the buyer have made a mistake!
I nearly gave all 1 stars once by clicking on the stars to the left instead of the right.
I also thought the DSR stars are 'put' on your account at least a day after than when the buyer actually left them. This way you cannot know for sure who actually left the low stars, unless you have only sold 1 item in the last month!
    Good luck,you'll need it! :(

Yes, I believe this is correct. The star ratings do not necessarily belong to the latest feedback you have been left, particularly if you receive a lot of feedback. On the odd occasion I have been left a neutral feedback, the corresponding low star(s) has appeared a couple of days later.

What evidence do you have that it was this buyer that left the low stars. Apart from the star rating being anonymous, there is a 'time lag' of a few days before stars left register on your DSR. Also remember that people have quite a few weeks to leave feedback/star ratings.

You can run reports, which if cross referenced can indicate the buyer/item.

I ran reports, very simple to narrow down. And the buyer has over 2000 feedback so I think they knew what they were doing :(

I've got one. I never charge above cost price postage anymore. But someone bought 2 items and never requested a new total. It meant they paid a bit more - so i just sent them 1st class instead of 2nd, which ate up the small difference.

Glowing feedback received, best ever ebayer etc etc. 1 star for postage.

I can't do with people like that. They should grow up.

For those who wonder how we know - i have a report that runs at 5/5 stars across the board. All i have to do then, is add the item number of the suspect buyer - and if one of the ratings drops - i have the culprit. Simples.

I don't think the reports thing would work for me. I've not tried it but I believe it is hard to work out a specific buyer if you sell lots of the same item and seeing as I sell hundreds of each item I sell, I have no chance!
  • I don't think you could do it as I run the reports by item number, they are mostly different in my case...
  • I phoned ebay about this the other day. I got a 1 for postage time but can prove that I post things the next day. To say they weren't interested is an understatement. It is so unfair that it is anonymous. I think I had to remind a buyer several times to pay and they got upset by it.

You can narrow it to a particular item number on a particular day, which usually reveals the culprit, unless you have sold several of that particular item on a particular day and they all leave feedback on the same day too.
