I had a Nokia N73 which I recently lost..
Reported it stolen and all that malarky, now I've got my replacement.
Thing is the phone I lost I've since found but obviously it's blocked.. Anyone know how/where to get it unblocked??
Kinda a grey area I know but I might aswell make a few bucks back, seen as though the network did charge me £50 excess..

True, but you can (with the right, very expenses hardware) revector the internal call to the address of the imei. That’s why there’s so much fraud on the UK networks, if the handsets were really unusable there wouldn’t be any...0

Sell it on ebay :j
I think blocked phones will work abroad,Or at least they used to.

Yes, there are loads of blocked phones on ebay.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

they will work abroad as the imei is only blocked in the UK but if the phone is locked onto the network e.g. t-mobile it wont work ith a foreign sim card, you would have to get the network to unlock it - which isnt really like so your a bit stuck
i have heard of the police looking at blocked phones on ebay because they would usually be stolen phones so depends if you wanna take the riskYes Your Dukeiness0 -

you are indeed correct, it is possible to patch the firmware to return 1 instead of 0 when comparing imei numbers stored in different places. this is done different in different phones, some are easy like firmware otp<>gdfs imei check and some are more difficult. others are only possible by changing the uem and rpl calculation.
but in my opinion, "impossible" was the right/most relevent answer to the op.
