second hand shoes and boots

I'm another no.
I get clothes from the charity shop, but I'm just really funny about feet, can't face the thought of wearing a shoe that someone else has worn. I've not had any problems or picked up any infections, it just seems so unhygienic that I just wouldn't go there. Personal prejudice and not having a go at those that do, but not for me.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
For children - no - we always got them fitted properly - even if we got secondhand clothes.
For myself - I have picked u a pair fo books and some sandls - I usually either wash the sandals - spray with anti bact. stuff or steam clean (which I did for the boots) - then I am happy.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -
I have no problem with 'nearly new' shoes, from either charity shops or ebay, but I wouldn't buy a pair of well-worn shoes.
I am the same although I am a ladies size 9 extra wide so have never found anything for me, but have for my daughter. I volunteer in a CS and we get many ladies shoes/boots in that havent been worn or look unworn.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0 -
Get yourself along to Deichmann shoes and you can have new ones at second hand pricesFeudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

I have brought the odd pair from charity shops but don't think i would buy from ebay, just as everyone else has said i check the condition then give a quick clean. Wouldn't buy any for my kids from a charity shop unless absolutely sure they where brand new.Success means having to worry about every thing in the world......EXCEPT MONEY. Johnny Cash

Yes. Obviously nearly new - why buy worn out ones? I always use hand sanitizer (hospital type) on them first.Put the kettle on.0

I don't have kids myself, but I was quite shocked at the price of kids new shoes! You can wave goodbye to £40/50 for a pair in Clarks, and that's just for a primary-school aged child.0 -
I do buy second hand shoes, boots and sandals - but, I make sure they look unworn! you can tell if they have been worn outdoors - and then I dont buy them unless they are jimmy choos for a tenner IYSWIM! a spray of anti-bac like scholl make, will take care of any foot infections. Usually I get my shoes from an outlet (which I am lucky enough to have near me). but just occasionally I see shoes in charity shops which are just screaming 'BUY ME'!0

I have bought the odd pair of shoes in a cs, but only when they look unworn, or are brand new.
I wouldnt buy of e bay, just incase they didnt fit properly. I have also had things described as "new, unworn," from e bay, and when they have arrived they have been well worn and obviously not new.

I've bought a couple of pairs of boots in CS - one is now on it's 3rd set of new soles and heels and still going strong, the other is a pair of ECCO boots in lovely soft leather that were brand new, still in box. Since I've small feet (about size 2½/35) it's very difficult to get the right size anywhere, these are both 36 and are worn with wooly socks inside, so I've no worries about infections getting at me!
I remember reading somewhere that dressy shoes were a good second-hand option, as they may have been bought for a particular occasion - e.g. a wedding - and to go with an outfit, and, especially if they weren't comfortable for the original user will end up in the CS practically unworn.
But I find, because I've an unusual size, I do quite well in TK Maxx, especially in the clearance section.0
