Bit early for me but I just 'happened' to be in the vicinity of my computer. Nothing definite planned today except a bit of cleaning up and maybe some ironing. It's supposed to be our day off but something is sure to turn up that has to be dealt with.

JG: have a good trip. From what I remember journeys undertaken with babies involve as much planning as a military exercise.

Have just gone back and read Lou's message last night. This is not good news. Lou: if you read this, please, please can you let us know what is happening. If not, could you just type 'OK' so that we know you are around.

    Good Morning All

Hester - that doesnt sound like you, hope you are feeling better.

(((Hugs))) Loulou and anyone else who needs one, January is such a horrible month :(

Monday again, they come round so darn quickly. Had a good weekend though, went to the Pictures sat night with Xmas vouchers and saw Sherlock Holmes - enjoyed it, even more as it was free :) yesterday watched DS played football and even though it was windy the sun was out and as he won it was a good day.

Today have a meeting around lunchtime, and before and after will be pottering around the house. Ds has boxing tonight so we will have an early dinner of salmon, new pots and peas.

House is in not too bad order and ironing pile is tiny, have a few deep cleaning jobs I want to get done this week and also a horrible office filing job so shouldnt be sitting on here still :rotfl:

    Have a good day all.x

To anyone who is feeling down and bad this morning have a <virtual hug>
Monday morning in mid January sucks thats for sure but we will all get through it with mutual help.

I have a crown thats giving me a bit of gyp this morning, not sore, but a bit sensitive and jumps a bit.I am hoping it will settle down as I don't fancy coughing up for a new one at the moment.
Weather is a bit bleugh here ,grey and uninspiring to be sure but my indoor amyryllis that I was given at Christmas is galloping away so spring can't be far off, fingers crossed.

Eldest DD donated her old lap-top to my DGS Ben yesterday and he is so pleased bless him.He knows his own Mum can't afford to get him a new one so he thinks his Auntie Shelley is the bees knees. He is doing his Biology GCSE tomorrow so I have my fingers crossed for him.
Mikey had the Monday morning blues today as well, he wanted to stay at home and sit on my lap and watch t.v., sadly it wasn't going to happen so he grumped off to school with a long face.must be something about Mondays. My youngest DD says I'm far too cheerful in the morning, but I always have been a cheery soul and try to see the funnier side of life if I can.
Well I'm off to have a cuppa and watch last weeks Holby City ob catch-up.Shows how busy I have been when I'm watching a programme thats nearly a week old :):)
Have a good day everyone whatever you are doing
    Cheers chums JackieO xxx
  • Hi
Hope you don't mind but I would like to join in if I may?

Today so far I have put a Chicken casserole in the slow cooker for tonight's dinner.

I have spent the last 3 months unwell and as a result my house is really suffering so I am hoping that today I can go through and do a bit in each room to get it back to a decent standard as I am feeling quite a bit better today.

    Thats all I have planned!

    Hi Frugal Housewife - welcome!
having a very lazy morning here as didn't sleep well at all. However I've now had my shower and breakfast so am planning the week's food prior to doing the weekly shop. Ought to be making marmalade but may leave that until tomorrow. Need to get downstairs all sparkly as am hosting a short-listing meeting here at 9am tomorrow. it'll be short tho' as two of the four of us need to be somewhere else as well! Mind that's better than meetings which just go on and on... So, yes, cleaning today, marmalade tomorrow! Weekend was incredibly busy - Friday I was interviewing all day, Saturday I travelled to an all-day conference, and yesterday had three weeks worth of church activities all happening on the same day! We finally went to the local Chinese for supper as we hadn't had time for food all day, nor had we done the shopping on the two preceding days so nothing to eat quickly!! Not very OS, but will aim to make up for that this week. Have piece of gammon in the fridge so will cook that for supper and aim for at leat two other gammon -related meals during the week. WM now on 2nd load - did at least get the bed changed yesterday so the sheets are spinning away.
Hope the birthday folk have a great day. Sorry so many are finding January a tough month.
    Take care, everyone.

  • Morning all,

I've had a very painful weekend as it would seem that the vertebrae that the docs suspected should have been giving me pain for the past nine months has finally 'popped' and is giving me a real pain in the bum and hip. It's affected my sleep for two nights so soon I shall turn into the grumpiest moo known to man! I've got a scan next Monday so hopefully they'll identify it there and I will be able to get some radiotherapy to stave it off. In the mean time I'm upping the morphine and hobbling around on crutches whilst trying my darnest to stay positive.

Lovely blowy day today so I've put the WM on and will peg out when it's finished. Other than that not much to do tday, which is good as I think I'd probably do far too much if I had the chance! I shall do a bit of sewing and pottering and listening to Radio 4.

Hugs to all that need them.

    Welcome Frugal Housewife:wave:

I have managed to get four loads of washing done and have put some on the line and some on airers around the house, so I am quite pleased with myself.
I will put the last load on in a mo. The, hall kitchen and living room are tidy so I am off to get some lunch.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
