Telephone,Broadband & Sky - Need all three - which is the cheap cheerful and best
Hi, we are thinking of moving shortly and currently have BT and Sky and Sky Broadband. Out of contract for all three. Hence are looking to review all three suppliers for the house. I am really thick and can not figure who would be the best provider or to split the providers again for all three.
Home phone, not used a huge amount except to get calls.
Broadband, we need unlimited usage.
TV, we would like a package that we can get sky sports.
Any suggestions? Virgin or Sky ? Many thanks.

Broadband is exchange-specific, so no general recommendations are possible. Suggest you start with an exchange search on https://www.samknows.com, look for your available LLU options-these will be the cheapest. Without any LLU options, truly unltd broadband will be very expensive-which doesn't quite fit with your request for 'cheap'.
Your TV choice will depends on whether or not you can get VM cable at the new address. If not, and you want subscription channels, then there aren't many other options than Sky, or the Sky Sports sub via Top Up TV on Freeview. Bundling all 3 services is not necessarily cheaper.
Is there already a VM cable or BT ADSL landline at the new address? No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Thanks Macman. That seems like a good website.
According to it, we have:
The following services are available in your location:- BT Wholesale ADSL
- BT Wholesale ADSL Max
- BT Wholesale WBC (21CN)
- BT Wholesale SDSL
- BT FTTC
- AOL LLU
- O2 / Be LLU
- Bulldog LLU
- TalkTalk (CPW) LLU
- Sky Broadband / Easynet LLU
- Tiscali LLU
- Tiscali TV (via Tiscali LLU)
- Virgin Media (Cable)

Sky or 02 would be the shortlist for me.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Thank you for your prompt reply. How come you say O2 and not virgin? Cheersx0

O2 is good value and service, especially if you can register an O2 mobile for the £5 discount.
VM has major customer service and infrastructure issues, as a perusal of this board will reveal. And their telephony is the most expensive around.
If you are taking a Sky TV sub, using their other services as well may make sense. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
We're with Sky TV (minimal package), Broadband (unlimited) and Talk.
The only gotcha is Talk, which charges for the "geographic" numbers instead of them being part of the inclusive package. But OTOH it does include caller ID.
I'm happy with the service.0
