Wierd issues on Ford Mondeo

Anybody ever comes across any of these two issues:

Issue 1:
I start the engine one day last week and left it running. It was iced over so nipped back in the house for some luke warm water to speed the process along. Got back to the car, with my partner this time as she was getting in the car before we headed out - to our horror the doors has automatically locked themselves
Fortunately one door was unlocked, the rear passenger side door. We kinda panicked a little bit as we tried the doors with no luck whilst the keys was in the ignition and engine running.

What on earth happened? This can't be normal can it?

Issue 2:
On several occasions now we have gone to the car and found all 4 windows down. All 4 electric windows, all controllable at each window and at the drivers seat. I thought at first I had been incredibly stupid for not checking -- but when it happened today my partner agreed we had not left the windows open!
So I sat in the car, used the key to double lock the door. Then used the key to unlock the doors and at the same time the doors unlocked, all 4 windows automatically rolled down

So i'm concluding the windows hadn't been down all the time the car was sat ourside - but came down when I unlocked the doors. It doesn't do it every time though, so I could be wrong.

As before, any ideas what's going on here?

One piece of advice for you is don't leave your car running and unattended.

The result could be a stolen car and no insurance payout.

The car is about 2 meters from my door and being watched by my partner. Didn't really pose a major security risk.

You'd be surprised how quick it can happen. A well known MO.

Seem to remember reading something about a feature where unlocking doors could also open windows. Was supposed to be for the odd hot day (yeah right) to cool the car down. Never tried it though and haven't got a Mondeo now.
Don't grow up. Its a trap!

    Peace, love and labradors!

Hold the unlock button down and all 4 windows will drop.

Right, I didn't know that was a feature.

I definately haven't sat on the keys. Nipped to the shop and got back ten minutes ago -- had to put windows back up twice now!!

Really paranoid so taken everything of any kinda value out of the car! Is there any way to disable it?

    What's RTFM? :)

Believe it or not it is a common problem on fords !!

Ford won't admit it but radio signals in the air can cause it ,sounds daft I know

we have had problems in work with fords locking themselves when the crane on our lorry is used .

the crane is operated by a remote hand held system . We've also had transit vans locking by themselves with keys in the ignition

one of our lorry drivers must leave his window open everytime he gets out of the vehicle when the engine is running to operate the crane

The manufacturer of the lorry reckon it's the safets way !!

    they can't cure it !

    Oh right :)

Will try find it now, hopefully it will help. I figured it to be a fault originally, therefore didn't expect the handbook to be of great help but maybe i will be proven wrong.
