Internal Blu Ray writer

Hi Everyone, i'm looking to build a new pc/media center for home and one of the must have's is a Blu Ray writer, trouble is i am looking at a silver case and i can not find a silver fronted blu ray writer anywhere.

Does anyone know if such a thing exists, or can offer any advice?

Thanks

  • When I was a kid (ok a long time ago I know, but) Airfix used to sell small tins of paint which could be a solution, I had the only bike in our school with a custom paint job, mind you Sharon/Sheila/Anne/Lorraine and Rachel were all annoyed when I overpainted their names ... I just ended up with changing it to "Current Bird"

Look for a black case as a second option! Must admit that I've never seen any drive with an optional silver fascia - grey and black only.

Well, I am surprised that you can still get silver fascias. Well done for searching - I stand corrected

Ah! You have never heard of the mystical place they call Currys then my friends!

They've got this Liteon for £60 and it comes in black, with a spare silver bezel. Just in case you decide on a two tone look after all!

Yo, but you did the hard work!

For standard - from 80p for plain writeable, £4 for rewriteable, and a lot more for dual layer (or faster disks) - of course it depends on the spindle size etc. Yes expensive, but you do get 25gb for disk; not expensive if you compare the price per gb..............and I expect the price will go down eventually (I hope anyway),

I agree that price per Gb is fine. But in my experience you can and do still get the odd 'coaster' when burning normal dvds. Theyre going to turn into quite expensive coasters if burning blu rays is the same

I have had very few coaster with blue-rays BDR no more than dvd-r and a lot less than dual layer dvd +r. I use Ritek brands and burn with imgburn best free writing program around and a lot better than nero. I do burn at 2.4x

I get my discs from scan as I get free postage
